Roland17:That's it. I think we lost because we were too excited. Games like this you should be more of cerebral work and not emotions. We could have seen off this game as a normal game not as an opportunity for revenge or go 8 points clear. |

Roland17:I have too. Cos of that 1-0 defeat. Twas painful. But not as painful as playing like all we wanted was to get 1point from 6. With such firepower again. If they didn't all have 3 draws each they would have made us 3rd by now. To capitalize should be a norm to us by now. Well, we meuve!! |

Spy360:Do we need a Striker? Yes even a non-footballing would concur ( frustrating PSG 2nd leg last season massively proved that)... Has Gyokeres been good enough so far? No... There is no sugar-coating, saying this team doesn't need one is being okay with the status quo of "Near-it" which would have gotten any Manager sacked elsewhere... For me, he has to do better Konate was shrugging him off the ball too easily and he wasn't doing well with duels and hold up either ( this assessment is not based entirely on today's match only)... |

daveP:There was no urgency and we lacked control in the 2nd half... Ball retention is not a one man work ooo also this is not the case of softening the blame, I saw Rice fumbles a 10-yard pass to Timber into touch and MLS gifting the ball away under no pressure not Once... Would you also blame Zubi for that? ( I mean Surrendering of possession) Our forward players press their defenders in the first half forcing them to turn-over possession and we win the second balls, In the 2nd half the energy to press just drop ; that even Kerkez and Gakpo start doubling up on Timber... |

daveP:If I tell you say I no dey feel your pain, I’d be lying. This draw hurts because this ravaged Liverpool had no business playing us out of the game the way they did. We struggled to adjust to Slot’s adjustments in the 2nd. Infact, the 2nd half was how Liverpool ended the first and should have clued us going into halftime. But, like I said earlier, let’s take the point and focus on Forest next week. Everything is still in front of us. We move! |

Roland17:Im glad you admit this. Im simply expressing my own pai n but someone thinks it is overreacting. Some vent now, some later, some never. What else are we discussing here if not football. Spy is a kid and i won't take such disrespect from him next time. It's a faceless forum. |

Gabriel Martinelli is not expected to face further action from the FA after the Arsenal forward attempted to push injured Liverpool full-back Conor Bradley off the pitch during Thursday’s Premier League fixture. Martinelli was shown a yellow card by referee Anthony Taylor. Given the incident was spotted by the on-field referee and action taken during the game, the Brazil international is not expected to face any retrospective disciplinary sanctions from English football’s governing body. - The Athletic

🚨Renée Slegers has signed a new long-term contract until 2029, while Jodie Taylor steps into a Technical Director role at the club. Not impressed with her full season so far, why the haste with the team clearly struggling on all fronts... They should have waited till end of the season... Players like Fox, Marionna, Meads and Mcabe are more deserving of extensions... They won't spend money to improve the team technically but na all this yeye extension dey always hungry them...

patrickmuf:That is his competition right now. Garcia I no go lie has been good but not better than Raya this season. It is going to be close but Raya will need all the help he can get from his team this season. If we win the EPL/ UCL and he continues his strong form, it would be a travesty if he isn’t number one. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 2:58pm On Jan 09 |
MSGAMBLE9:This is a very valid observation. Our attackers didn't press Loserpool defenders well enough to force overturning of the ball to us in the second half. That was what led to us being on the defensive foot when we should be on the ascendancy. Our attackers also didn't get into right positions to create goalscoring opportunities for us. There was a cross from Rice into the box which was meant for Gyokeres who was nowhere near where he could convert the cross. He allowed himself to be marked out by Konate . Then there's Hincapie who doesn't make crosses into the box despite playing as a full back who knows we have big players who can convert aerial chances. The fact that we didn't get more than 3 Corners in the match showed our wingers didn't do well against their full backs neither did our Central attackers and AMs do enough to force Corner kicks from them. The summary is so many players didn't show up yesterday and not just singling out Zubi by claiming he lacked Partey's control ability. Partey's presence in the game won't change the score line if all other factors remain same. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 3:18pm On Jan 09 |
Loserpool didn't have a shot on Target in yesterday's game which means defense was actually not the problem but our inability to score. Aside from that ball that hit the bar, we never really had any serious goal scare in that match. We really need our attackers to bring out magic for us to score goals in such games o, the defence are already doing their own part. |

2031 ...𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚: Bukayo Saka has committed his future to Arsenal by agreeing a new and improved five-year deal. Saka was tied down until June 2027 but talks have been taking place about an extension and fresh terms are now in the process of being finalised. - The Athletic

iamoyindamola:This is damming, something I have complained repeatedly about and one of the many things Arteta addressed in his post game. He was literally open, made the run, used his hand to signal but guess who Zubi passed to? He made the safe pass to Saka who was immediately tripled and we lost possession. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 6:52pm On Jan 09 |
Carot:Arteta has not figured how he intends to use Eze. It is a debacle that unbalances how he sets up his team with Odegaard and Trossard. It’s a good trouble for any good coach because he is a very good player. More specifics.. Odegaard- Arteta doesn’t necessarily like changes. Arteta still believes Odegaard is his main AM, irrespective of the position they start from on the pitch. Our offense is built around Odegaard and Arteta isn’t willing to do it differently. It is the reason Odegaard averages the most touches. Trossard- He has been in terrific form and his position would be Eze’s preferred starting position but not role…two different things. Eze isn’t a winger, he is an AM who likes to create from the right. He can also play central but there is Odegaard. Defense- Arteta sets up his team to defend, especially, if you are playing from the wings, irrespective of role. Eze lost his man in the Villa game and Arteta brought the hammer by benching him. Eze needs the ball but right now Arteta isn’t willing to risk it, especially since Eze did not have a preseason with us. With all that being said, I think Eze is a better option than Odegaard. Arteta is playing it safe with what he is used to. Odegaard hasn’t exactly impressed and we suffer without the ball because he doesn’t mark but since he plays central, it is not as noticeable. Eze will get his chance with upcoming FA/EFL/ EPL fixtures. That level of quality in the midfield should waste on the bench. I was happy yanked Odegaard off early yesterday because he produced another stinker. I think Arteta and Eze both need the preseason to help with figuring out how to use him. |
