Hi folks.

I was using an MTN 4G router when I received a message from MTN about their new unlimited speed-based bundle. I wanted to subscribe to the bundle, but I'm not eligible. Their agent told me that I need to get a new MTN 5G router for the bundle to work, even though we don't have a 5G network in my area, but he assured me that it would work.

I ordered the router online from the MTN e-shop. It was delivered, but when I went to register the SIM, I found out that MTN had already assigned the number that came with the router to another customer.

I called and even went to their office, but they couldn't help me.

Please, has anyone encountered the same issue? And how can I resolve it?

Secondly, is there any way I can subscribe to the MTN unlimited bundle with a 4G router?

It happens to me but i bombarded support with messages eventually they have to send me a new sim

I can body tell there is nothing like unlimited data usage

So mtn now has an unlimited bundle for router, thought it was only for their fibre network. Is it truly unlimited or it is capped?

Those speed based plans by MTN are not unlimited. The 40k plan has an FUP (Fair Usage Policy) of 400GB, while the 65k plan has an FUP of 800GB. Once you have reached the FUP, the speed is reduced to, I think, 5Mbps or something.

i did 1tbyt with it.
let me mail mtn if they can spoil Airtel odu package....

I'm sorry for the issue you encountered during the Sim registration. What is the error message you got when you tried to register the Sim?

That is why MTN FIBRE X has you covered if you live in its environment. It's cheaper than normal data and it's truly unlimited.

I ditched my MTN routers both 4G and 5G in favor of Fibre. Just do same

I went to their office. They forced me to buy another SIM. When I came back home, it refused to work. I paid 12k for the new SIM.

I reported it to NCC on X, but they did not respond. Please, I don't want to let this go.

I need suggestions because I'm ready to fight till the end.

Which state is that? Does it come with with alsmot equivalent data or it's just the Sim? Sorry I'm just curious why a Sim should be sold at such an exorbitant price.

Just switch to MTN FibreX....I use about 300gb weekly and still no FUP in sight.

There is, if u buy the 5g router, the sim can do unlimited. I also heard the option is also available for the premium 4g router which is sold at 40k. Will be getting dat one as soon as my odu subscription expires.

Call me for MTN FIBER X within Lagos state.
