Wike does not have platform this time if Tinubu takes platform away from him

Wike has only fought election in opposition against Buhari once, and Buhari was a soft touch with opposition which is why Peter Obi was able to have a strong run. That will never happen under Tinubu for Peter Obi. And if Tinubu turns favour away from Wike, he will be finished. There is no loyalty in Rivers politics. They don't back losing horses. You must be anchored to either the Governor or the President for them to support you, with a reasonable prospect of winning from your anchor; and Wike is only anchored to the President now. To lose election in Rivers is to lose everything and nobody will stake their pocket on you if you don't have power aligned in your favour. If President Tinubu aligns with Governor Fubara, it's over for Wike. The HOA and all structure will abandon him like they did to Amaechi
Gosh you know these game well. How Raum fails to see that this is the beginning of the end for WIke amazes me. cool

Exactly. Las las, Rivers is one state, and Wike comes with a sh1t ton of baggage.

Knowing BAT tho, he'd stick with him, but fact is Wike leg no firm for ground, and he presents like he has the most to lose.

It would be interesting to know if it was an adult anaesthesiologist or a paediatric anaesthesiologist.

He is a good player who is at his peak and is playing in the right system. He also now has a great deal of experience in African football (4th most capped player in SE history) and is still under 30.

If you revert to playing him in a 2-man midfield with 2 wingers and Lookman supporting Osimhen, he won't be as impressive.

there is to much corruption and compromise within the system
these are businesses bringing in billions of naira to a select crew and there is a chain of people collecting their cut all along the way.

there was one time when we had an incident at work where an out of control station dealer attacked dpr officals on camera. we were thinking finally, this guy will get his comeuppance. for where? the article disappeared from newspaper, his station was reopend with high level govt officials in tow

right now someone is being slapped for allowing them to be videoed. there will be dog and pony show where dealers who fail to drop for teh boys have their goods seized and paraded, and then its business as usual - esp as the tribal blackmail will be introduced as well as Nigerian sentiment 'they are helping the poor man get TV' . the LG label is enough for most nigerians

No difference between the "lobbying" they do in the US and "bribery" that happens here. One just have a fancy name, both are functionally the same. Bribes.

I agree with Charles Anazodo.

Nigeria is a dysfunctional, we all know this NFF is inefficient and a clog in the wheel of our football progress, fact!. There is massive corruption in the NFF, true. . Players will always be owed allowances, bonuses, awards, no be today.

But everything we have achieved, every laurel we have ever won in football has been despite the systemic corruption, the poorly run NFF and maladministration of our football.

If money is the players only motivation to play and they cant do it for the honour of the badge and repping Nigeria, then they should reject their invitation to the national team because NFF is notorious for owing, will not pay them as at when due and will always owe. Simple!

Football is a very emotional sport. Nigerians are heavily and emotionally invested in the Super Eagles. People have been sent to their early graves on account of the team's loss. Did we not read about the Nigerian who slumped and died due to the team's loss to Ivory Coast in the last AFCON final? Me, I couldn't eat the night of the 2022 WCQ loss to Ghana, ditto last year's playoff loss to DR Congo. I was irritable and brooded for a week before I got over it.

People lost livelihoods and income because of their non qualification. Brands attached to the team lose money and revenue too. Edafe Mathew Elegbete of Elegbete Sports said the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the Qatar 2022 world cup put him $250,000 in debt.

Their incessant protests at every crunch time has become silly. They protested during the WCQ playoffs, dem jabo. Dem wan play AFCON Q/F against their toughest opponent, they are protesting again. Where is the sense in that? Didnt they learn anything from their last protest? At this point, their protest has become a tool to blackmail and sabotage the country.

Hand don dey pain me so make I put full stop for here but I am glad people are now calling them out now for this nonsense behaviour.

Below is the post I made in the Super Eagles thread on this their AFCON protest.

If you had to guess which would it be? My money is on an adult Anesthesiologist.

Irrespective, I am really interested in specifics of the treatments this kid received from both hospitals.

Too many questions. I feel gutted for the family. They should engage a competent lawyer ASAP and review their options.

See as Adichie son die, she held the Hospital accountable.

That TikTok influencer (Sunshine) died during routine fibroid removal surgery and the family announced "unfortunately the surgery did not go as planned", announced her demise and moved on.

Exposure and education is everything

she also has the resources and the clout to drag this

it is not really about exposure. lots of wealthy and exposed nigerians have died or been messed up in naija hospitals

in fact, most naija hospitals first make you sign a waiver before any operation.

it is simply that as nigerians we are more fatalist and more inclined to take it as God's will.

What you call a waiver is most likely an informed consent form, which is standard in most climes.

There is no waiver that will protect a hospital or doctor from gross negligence, incompetence, or substandard clinical practice.

Whatever you sign only protects the doctor/hospital if a potential known complication arises in a situation where the medical team carried out their duties as expected. Any grave error invalidates it.

imho - it is much more than informed consent. i have signed two or three in the past. what i will say is because we are not a litigious society, and because everyone will cover for themselves and conceal as much as possible, these issues usually end up as embarrassment for the hospital on social media with no consequences

It is informed consent. They will inform you about possible complications that could occur to the patient if the procedure is carried out. Then you sign that you approve for the procedure to go ahead knowing the things that could go wrong.

I always get my patients to sign them but it does not mean I can’t face litigation if I make a big mistake. It does not protect the doctor from facing disciplinary action for grave mistakes and negligence.

The concept of waiver does not exist in medicine. You can’t sign waiver for a human being’s life. It is not a refrigerator or generator that can be easily replaced.

Has any doctor in Nigeria faced disciplinary action for negligence? Or any hospital?

All that happens is what chimamanda is doing right now. It remains to be seen if she will follow through with a hard lawsuit or stop at calling out the hospital.

Especially when you consider how slow courts are in Nigeria. It will likely drag for years. Especially as lagos state does not have active malpractice laws as far as I can tell.

And the hospital is probably quickly forging different documents and reports as most hospitals in Nigeria

You may also find they do not even have proper patient records. No HIPAA or it's equivalent here.

Probably an adult anaesthesiologist who maybe did not factor in the fact that tiny differences in dosage can affect a tiny child in more dramatic ways than an adult.

He also probably did not factor in the fact that the child already had a respiratory infection, meaning the breathing was already compromised before adding the propofol which would make things even worse.

The crucial issue however is the claim that he took a child sedated with propofol off monitoring and oxygen to and from the theatre.

I used to use combination of Fentanyl and Propofol when relocating shoulder and hip dislocations for adults and you have to keep the patient on oxygen and telemetry monitoring all the time because of the risk.
