How to identify fake LG TV: 1. The first give away is usually the way the LG is written on the carton. ALWAYS, there is a mismatch in colour hue and font size between the LG and the TV brand name. 2. The LG written on the TV itself is often slightly out of alignment (typically not straight) and often all white color. Some LG TV have the LG logo in red and not white. 3. Remote controllers of fake LG TV WILL NOT operate a genuine LG TV but remote controllers of genuine LG TV will usually operate another genuine LG TV even when not of same model types. 4. LG Smart TV use the WebOS as operating system. If you have an LG Smart TV running on Android.....hmmmm, my brother, na Alaba LG be that o. 5. Fakes are typically lightweight. They usually have fewer components inside. 6. Always look up the LG TV model type you wish to purchase online and compare the features and packaging with the one in the store you are at. If it's a fake, you should be able to see immediately. |

Hmm Alàba market, watch how SON investigating this will end up with Peter Obí going there and batting for the counterfeiters telling us they are being targeted. Watch how Obidients will start talking about how they should let them go and form their country if they don't want them in Lagos. You just watch! |

Britishcoins:How do you check all these if the carton is sealed? Your best bet is to only purchase your electronics from authorized dealers and reputable stores and not open markets |

Last month I bought two phone batteries with a space of two 2 weeks. They usually swelled up after 1 week or 2.. That battery brand (Mich Pro) has SON stamped on it.. It is obviously fake, so I wonder how they got SON certified. Does SON do quality control test, or are they trying to generate noise like NAFDAC in the media, so they can get huge government allocations? |

The culprits will soon start shouting marginalization |
| Re: SON Investigates Counterfeit TV Production At Alaba Market by Fiyin007: 1:11pm On Jan 11 |
If these major brands are really serious about dealing with counterfeiters they should publish and update their website on a weekly or monthly basis with names and addresses of their authorised dealers, models and expected retail price range of all their products. Anyone buying from unknown dealers are on their own. |

| Re: SON Investigates Counterfeit TV Production At Alaba Market by Originalsly: 1:19pm On Jan 11 |
SON is tracking those responsible . Why haven't they gone to the stores and seize the products? The TVs are being sold off to unsuspecting customers while they are out there tracking people. Jokers everywhere |

I guess they are just waking up to their duty…..I guess they have an office and personnel at our ports and point of entry where all this deviants that have sworn to kill Nigerians with fake drugs and substandard products bring in their goods? This are economic saboteurs just because of their greed for money, in the name of business don’t mind killing Nigeria with fake drugs and products ![]() It’s high time this government agencies take their jobs seriously and not until social media start exposing this criminals before they take action……it was really shameful and appalling to see some shameless people justify this criminality on the other thread yesterday just because of their ethnic bias and sentiment, yet this bunch of self righteous clowns will be quick to call out Tinubu and elected govt officials like they are saints just like their leader who as kept silent ever the news broke out….bunch of hypocrites ![]() |

Yes, it is not new, even the days of SHARP TV such was in existence. Government is aware of it. |
| Re: SON Investigates Counterfeit TV Production At Alaba Market by bjcole(m): 1:26pm On Jan 11 |
Britishcoins:I don't know why we are making fuss over this matter, even the LG and other brands know there are counterfeit in the market. This Son people are purely attention seekers. Brand new LG 65 inches is from #800,000 to over 1million naira. Those ones in the video are refurbished LG manufactured in China and they still run LG software inside, but not the same quality and colors but the price is way cheaper. Those Rebranded LG 65inches sell for like #450,000 thereabout. but the size is not exactly 65inches..Check them very well, the sizes are always lesser than the quoted sizes on the cartons. Take a brief and go to most of the small retail TV sellers, thats what you see there. All those Nigerians forming holier than thou, we are not ready as a nation to stamp out counterfeit products, our govt are not ready. A nation that celebrates yahoo boys and corruptions. Abegi. |
