Gadget importation, you can import usa used gadget like laptops or phones into Nigeria and resell. for example, one MacBook pro laptop 2019 is sold in the USA for about 350,000 and same laptop is sold in Nigeria for N700k.

Online Business ; Buy and sell domain Names online. You can buy domains for $9 each and go to afternic and resell above $500. Not a new business but several Nigerians are not aware of it.

I once bought a domain for $9 and resell it $3K. Some $250 - $799.

No.long story, do your own research. Google how to make money with expired domain names

Or check thus free awareness thread;

Find a ship to rent in a busy area such as car parks or market areas , if you can’t find a buys shop to rent build a very small kiosk and place it there budget around 300-400k

Install a solar inverter for like 350k ( you should be able to do a solar with 0.5kva )

BUSINESS 1- Put a small sign board there that CHARGE YOUR PHONE HERE
Business 2- get a lotto machine and spoon baba ijebu for the people around - budget around 150k ( to be an agent )

Total amount invested just around 1 million naira

Since you need exactly 80k profit a month

This is exactly what you will see every month which is equivalent of 20k a week

3,500 naira per day

If you want to milk the business and add more money to what you make PUT A POS BUSINESS THERE TOO

once again make sure you are in a busy area

The more busy the area is the more money you will make and vice versa

1. Leverage on using the digital space instead of looking to rent a physical Space
2. Think of thriving online businesses you can venture into
2a. My suugestion is to get a pre-order plug, buy items cheap from china (My wife does pre-order in volume)
2b. I'll give some items with price + shipping I can remember
- Tshirt - 3,800
- Hoodie Set - 3,000
- Smart Watch - 7,800
- Analog Watch - 3,000
- Blender - 73,000
- Center Table - 23,000
- Ladies Mixed Bags - 5,000 each
3. Set up and online store
4. Run ads (Which is what I have done for multiple struggling businesses)
5. Use Influencers, I have some on my list that do for as low as 50-100k
6. Double down on sales and not profit for the first 3-6 months
7. Customer retention, every customer you got must be followed up back to back, I use newsletters, messaging and feedbacks calls. (You can outsource this when you have numerous customers)

And so on and so forth....

My people perish for lack of knowledge.

From your analysis, it's clear you ain't a civil/public servant,
Why throw money away when you can do somethings for almost free?
There's no difference between sowing a seed to pastors and some of the investment tips on this forum.

* Go to any popular transport company, and load for passengers

* If you're a good chef, try 'mama put' business,
People will come from far to patronize you.
N/B: you don't need a shop for this business.

* Go and join a volunteer organization and hope for the best

Any other thing, is simply wasteful !!!

Cooking gas business together with pos business. Find a good location, you will not regret it
Re: What Business Can I Do With 1 Million? by lavylilly: 10:29am On Jan 12
I’ll be very honest with you, because ₦1 million can work, but only if we are realistic and strategic.

First, let’s set the truth clearly 👇

Can ₦1m give ₦80k monthly profit consistently?

Yes — but not with “set-and-forget” investments in Nigeria today.
Anything that promises guaranteed passive ₦80k is either:

High risk

Short-lived

Or outright scam

What does work is low-volatility, essential-demand businesses or hybrid models (part business, part investment).

I’ll give you OPTIONS THAT SURVIVE:

Rainy or dry season

Political wahala

Government policy swings

Inflation

And I’ll tell you which ones actually hit ₦80k/month and how long it takes.

---

OPTION 1: Mini Food Supply Business (MOST RELIABLE)

What it is:
Supplying food items that people MUST buy weekly, regardless of economy.

Examples

Rice (local + imported mix)

Beans

Garri

Palm oil

Groundnut oil

Capital Breakdown (₦1m)

Inventory: ₦800k

Transport/logistics: ₦100k

Buffer/cash flow: ₦100k

How you make money

5–8% margin per turnover

2–3 turnovers per month

Monthly Profit

Conservative: ₦60k

Realistic: ₦80k–₦120k

Why this survives anything

People eat no matter who is president

No licensing wahala

Inflation actually helps margins if you restock fast

⚠️ Rule: DO NOT retail. Supply retailers.
Retailing will stress you.

---

OPTION 2: POS + Bill Payment Hub (Still Works If Done Right)

Not the roadside POS that struggles — I mean strategic placement.

Setup Cost

POS machine + float: ₦600k–₦800k

Small kiosk/space: ₦100k

Backup cash: ₦100k

Daily Profit Target

₦3k–₦5k net

Monthly

₦90k–₦120k

Why it’s stable

Cash scarcity keeps POS alive

Politics doesn’t kill it

Works rain or sun

⚠️ Avoid overcrowded POS streets.
Put it near:

Markets

Bus stops

Schools

Estates with poor ATM access

---

OPTION 3: Phone Accessories + Repairs (Recession-Proof)

People may not buy new phones, but they repair and protect old ones.

What to sell

Screen protectors

Chargers

Power banks

Earphones

Phone repairs (partner with a tech if you can’t fix)

Capital Use

Inventory: ₦700k

Simple shop/kiosk: ₦200k

Working cash: ₦100k

Monthly Profit

₦70k–₦120k

Why it survives

Phones are now “life tools”

Replacement beats upgrade during hardship

---

OPTION 4: Transport-Linked Business (Not Owning a Car)

Instead of buying a car, control movement.

Example

Partner with dispatch riders

You fund bikes/logistics

Take fixed daily remittance

Setup

₦1m = 1 bike + working capital

Rider remits ₦2k–₦3k/day

Monthly

₦60k–₦90k

⚠️ Requires rider vetting and tracking discipline.

---

OPTION 5: Hybrid Investment (Lower Stress, Slower Start)

If you want less physical stress:

Structure

₦600k → high-interest savings / treasury-backed products

₦400k → small trading (food or POS)

Result

Investment interest: ₦20k–₦30k

Business profit: ₦50k–₦70k

Total: ₦80k+

This is how smart people sleep better.

---

What I Would NOT Recommend

❌ Pure crypto
❌ Forex “account managers”
❌ Agriculture without direct control
❌ Betting-related businesses
❌ Anything depending on government contracts

---

The Most Important Question (Answer Honestly)

To guide you properly, I need to know:

1. Which state/city are you in? (markets differ)

2. Do you want:

Hands-on business

Semi-passive

3. Are you okay managing people, or do you prefer systems?

Reply with these 3 answers and I’ll give you ONE exact plan, step-by-step, using your ₦1m — no theory.

You’re not late. You just need a stable base now.

Re: What Business Can I Do With 1 Million? by TheStoriesOfMan:
Invest in sack farming. If you have a leased land in the village, use it to plant 10,000 sacks of yam, potato or groundnut. Make sure there is a water source nearby.

A 98% harvesting rate can give you a lotta cash.

One tuber of yam is ₦3000.

Therefore, profit is 9800x3000= ₦29,400,000.

Fortunately, getting sacks are quite easy. Get yam setts or cut yam into pieces, prepare the bag by filling with manured soil, rub the yam pieces with wood ash and plant in the bags. Prepare trellises so that the tendrils can grow upright.

If you area is populated and has people who are interested in sports, you can open a standard viewing room. If other are showing matches and collecting 200 you can make yours 300 or more. Everything na packaging Atleast well equipped not all these viewing center where speaker no go de for inside. I’m sure if you can organize it properly you will get more than 80k per month. ( champions league, laliga, premier league, etc.) and remember some clubs play matches two times week. World Cup is coming. You can even set up snooker board at the side. No allow smokers to de smoke there ohhh if not ur name na sorry.
Also gas and it components is a good idea but I don’t know if you can make 80k monthly

I won't advice anyone to learn graphics design. AI has made it easy, just to get a basic knowledge.

I'll recommend solar installation. The demand is high and the coverage area is at it's primitive age. The untapped potentials in solar installation are too tempting to ignore.
