You were once there in leadership position what positive impact or legacy did you make in your community?. Just go and enjoy your loot quietly instead of making noise |

Emilokan destroyed it completely, nothing remain. Failure has now been normalized. Extreme hardship has been normalized, even insecurity has been normalized |

The new set of leaders arising now and that would arise in the coming future will be much worse than these old men. I would not be affected anyways. |

Emilokan should have asked buhari to back Osibanjo and act as his political godfather than demystifying and doing mortal damage on his reputation by his total failure as president |

One big shortcomings of this current government is its INABILITY TO PLAN, to carry out cost-benefit analysis of decisions or SWOT analysis of policies. There is little thinking long and hard on issues. It looks it acts on knee-jerk basis before thinking. Look at these: -- Removed fuel subsidy without plan for likely consequences. -- Floated Naira without plan to counter likely consequences. -- Placed sanctions against Niger before sending envoys to talk to military junta over there. No consultations or analysis of consequences. -- Implemented post-subsidy palliatives without any plan. -- Installed bloated government with many idle ministers and sides without thinking about the financial consequences. -- Focusing largely on monetary and fiscal affairs without any plan to stimulate economic, boost export and earn forex. |

Didn't he say he'll continue from where the past administration stopped.....so don't blame him solely blame his voters and supporters. |

As far as the North is not ganging up to snatch power fom the South, I'm fully in support of their bold expression of disillusionment about the current government. We need someone more prepared to lead Nigeria into the ages of modern day transformation instead of continuous dependence on western borrowing and slavery. |

Antoeni:I will like to see your CV with concrete evidence of establishments that you grew. It will be very bad if you know this much but no evidence of having grown an establishment from nothing to blue chip. |

MufasaLion:You have made a very strong point that many will not like or acknowledge it. Honestly, when I see the political trajectory of Nigeria currently and how greed has gotten a strong hold of our politicians, both old and young, I can boldly conclude that the future is not bright at all. If you understand the principle of succession planning in leadership, young and future leaders are groomed by political patriots, who bequeath wisdom of discipline, integrity, hardwork, loyalty, and empathy for the nation generally, that they want to serve. Since 1999, you will quite agree with me that the many crop of politicians we have are self- centered, greedy, wicked, brutal, and without emotional intelligence to solve societal issues confronting Nigeria in the current day era. What a pity. The greatest achievement of an average Nigerian politician is ensuring that he has foreign investments. This is majorly in real estate business or some form of capital investment to insure his life and that of his wife, children, and children- children yet unborn. None believes in the Nigerian dream. Let's stop foolish ourselves. If you doubt me, point at one politician old enough that doesn't have properties worth millions of dollars outside the shores of Nigeria. Fact! |

Heffalump:This is apt! The irony is that these same politicians have government agency that facilitate leadership skills but it is obvious none of those skills are realistic with the Nigerian political structure. It's just like being an Harvard or Ivy league graduate and you think you could implement any initiatives in the government. Funny because there's no structure and human capital to even reinforce it. |

I see education as a stumbling block too in our development. The speaker repeatedly used the word social contract how many Nigerians know what that means. I have noticed with saddening amusement how Nigerians have accepted the notion of politicians being kings or lords. In many countries politicians are no better than doctors, lawyers etc. Social contract is the reason why if there’s a pothole on your road and your car gets damaged you should sue the LG; Social contract is the reason why you should be concerned when the president overstays his leave abroad; Social contract is the reason why children of the president cannot fly solo on the presidential jet; The list goes on and on. Our tradition also compounds the issue, undue adulation of persons based of age, affluence or cunningness. People who are in connivance with the government to subvert our interests are applauded as hustlers. Our education needs a major shake up and revision. Teachers should earn very high so we can attract educationists from abroad. Many Nigerians are not right thinking. How can someone support a minister to fight a governor over an unholy agreement… |

What are the contribution of the northern elites to the development of the country "weaponise" poverty, insurgency and banditry? Compared to the South Korea and the likes that you mentioned, is that their attitude to development? Talk is cheap... |
