That's how my brother's son was killed at Minna General Hospital. A child that was given birth to healthy at the hospital. but because the nurses didnt tie his umbilical cord well, the child bled to death. and my brother now has 5 daughters and no son. and nobody or institution was sued.

I trust the doctors in that hospital did the right thing...you cannot always blame other people for every events. Whether you give them one week or not, you child ( may his soul rest in peace) got the infection from the same house you were living with him. After the infection, you took the child to the hospital and he died...even the hospital you intend to take the child to abroad, people also die there...if your child had died in the hospital abroad, would you have given them one week ultimatum to produce medical results ? All this nonsense must stop...as a mother, you are suppose to be prosecuted for negligence... because your child got infected under your care

A baby of less than 2 years has already started having that kind of illness, even upon her ‘wokeness’.
Make she accept God’s will and go on to get belle for another baby jor. More than a thousand of people don delete, today alone.

What is wrong with finding out the cause of death of her child? What is wrong with demanding medical records?

Wanted to write "Incident"....it was an error

I follow one anaesthetist lady on FB and then I kind of realized that they are the ones who control a lot. Seems the monitoring of the sedation is very very important, monitoring you constantly till you wake.

Some of us always thought it's always about the surgeons.

Suddenly nobody is talking about how serious the childs sickness was that required urgent air-lifting to John-Hopkins Hospital in the US, suddenly nigeria medical practitioners are evil.
Same way we all blamed some bullies for the orimoyi childs death some years ago only to later find out it was false accusations, and the child was actually very sick and was not properly taken care of.
Hopefully some day we would learn to get the facts right before blaming people unnecessarily instead of relying on sensationalism.
Do children also die of sicknesses in john hopkins? who do they blame for that?

Second, the fact is, many hospitals behave that way because many of them have been fleeced by unscrupulous patients and their relatives.

They should have treated first, true, but there are times where people come in, lie, and then vamoose after treatment.

Have worked in hospitals were even salaries have been delayed because of revenue shortfalls from people that don't pay. Receptionist was just following polices developed because of far too many bad incidents in the past.

This looks more like an anaesthetic death.
That anaesthetist is in as deep soup.
He should really pray very hard, that he comes out clean.

He, 85, was a regular patient who went there every month for check up for over six years. Why didn't she just type his name on the computer for confirmation and leave bureaucracy for the high-ups?

They should calm down a bit, we know it's hard, but she should not act as if babies had never died where she's based. People have lost babies, and hers is no different, Euracare no go chop er baby. Condolences to all who have lost theirs.

If you say this outside, a high possibility they might lynch you. Your bias is making you considered less like a beast on the field. Probing cause of death is why societies get better. It would even be better for the hospital to prevent such an ill incident from occurring again. But you.....

From personal experience, some personels in the medical service here in Nigeria have this larger than life attitude. Just pray you dont fall prey cos only then will you understand

Yeah, that is what they should have done, but again, the problem is hospitals have been scammed even by 'known patients' (my former employer once operated on the wife of a friend for free on the promise that money would come later, as at when he was telling me the story, years had passed and no cash paid. Eventually this my former employer started cracking down. Even my current employer self...not only issues with patients, but issues with insurance companies wey dey refuse to pay for tests and medicaltions sometimes)...so at the end, hospitals against their better wishes and instinct, clamp down. Awful situation.

We all have experienced some level of unprofessionalism from healthcare workers at some point especially at the govt hospitals, but some times you fall back to reflect, the work environment is stressing with only a few underpaid hands on ground to attend to uncountable faces with all manner of sicknesses, you wont expect the best of treatment from such environment I suppose. What exactly are those in the power doing about it?
Back at the topic, I strongly believe the family is exagerating unknowingly out of emotions, A hospital that big wont risk employing unestablished professionals, and even at the best places people still die from simple surgeries, the baby was obviously very sick in the first place. Too sad.
