Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has launched a scathing attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the opposition party as a “swamp” and predicting further defections by key figures.

Speaking during a media engagement, Fayose claimed that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed would eventually leave the PDP for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as internal crises continue to weaken the party.

“The PDP is a swamp. Governor Makinde and Governor Bala will go to the ADC,” Fayose said. “This party is no longer what it used to be.”

The outspoken former governor dismissed calls for his expulsion and that of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, insisting that the PDP lacks the moral and political authority to sanction them.

“The PDP cannot expel people like Governor Wike and me,” Fayose stated. “Ironically, the majority of those who accused us of anti-party activities are now in the APC.”

Fayose further lamented the state of the party, saying it has become irreparably divided and ineffective as an opposition force.

“PDP today is a cloth torn into two halves and of no use to either side,” he said.

His remarks come amid persistent leadership disputes, defections, and internal realignments within the PDP, raising concerns about the party’s cohesion ahead of future elections.

Political analysts say Fayose’s comments reflect growing frustration among senior party figures and underscore the deepening cracks threatening the PDP’s relevance on the national stage.

Fayose should be properly monitored. He can do anything for Wike to remain in politics as it guarantees the safety of his personal interest. He is a very good man. But full time politicians who have lost their grip on the national cake could be dangerous to good governance.

That will be bad for Tinubu, wouldn't it? Especially that of Seyi Makinde. That will effectively split the Southwest and put the 3 populous states of Lagos, Osun and Oyo in contention. It's not yet Uhuru for Tinubu afterall. Not even in the Southwest.

Fayose rejected ministerial post from Jagaban maybe due to health reasons. A man so close to Asiwaju and Wike cannot be said to have lost grip on the national cake. Fayose is closer to the president than most of the Ministers wether you believe it or not is your cup of Tea.

The thread was created off that speech by Kwankwaso and nowhere in the video above did he imply that he endorsed the governor's move but you clickbaiters are having a field day off a fake news. It's funny to see. The governor's defection without Kwankwaso failed to give APC the needed momentum so they are attempting to create one by faking it.
