OHANAEZE Ndigbo has tasked the leadership of all Igbo town unions to use this year’s Christmas and New Year to address the issues of insecurity and frequent sit-at-home that have ruined the economic and social life of the South-East region.

It also urged them to talk to the youths in their various communities about the need to embrace hard work and shun get-rich-quick attitudes.

Ohanaeze said it could not understand how the South-East region which was the most peaceful suddenly became an area associated with only crimes and violent activities.

The group said this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia.

The statement reads:” The South-East of Nigeria was adjudged the most peaceful and serene geo-political zone until April 5, 2021, when hoodlums or the unknown gunmen attacked and overwhelmed the Correctional Centre, Owerri, and released a total of 1,844 prison inmates.

"Ohanaeze had interrogated the strategic capacity of the local non-state actors to overwhelm a highly fortified Correctional centre and discharged a total of 1,844 inmates without any arrest. Since that episode, the Igbo are confronted with various forms of insecurity.

“Added to the menace of herdsmen-farmers clashes, we now have kidnappers and community invaders in many parts of Igboland. Hundreds of lives have been lost to these recent developments. This is very appalling and unbecoming. There must be a drastic step to counter the narrative.

“There is no gainsaying the rampant sit-at-home in the South-East has done incalculable damage to the Igbo economy.

"Evidence has shown that the Igbo adversaries are happy that we have chosen to face the barrel of the gun inwards.

“It is inconceivable that a group of people will decide to cripple its economy. This is an unfortunate exercise and must be addressed at the town’s meeting.

“That bad men thrive because good men go to sleep is an age-old statement founded on truth, reason and experience”.

This useless Ohanaeza will never call out the main culprit that gave rise to these killings in Igboland…NEVER, rather they always choose to dance around the root instigator, hunchback namadi cownu, whom they are asking to be freed.
The animal that started sit-at-home is namadi cownu and he invited all criminals, from armed robbers, kidnappers, organ traffickers to babalawos to join Ipob/ESN terrorists. Ohanaeza are well aware of these atrocities by cownu and his brainless Ipob/ESN bingos, but they will never call them out.
Today is Christmas and the liar Peter Peter Obi is not in his home town, rather he’s in a safe place in Tinubu’s Lagos, so is most of these cowards in Ohanaeza.
The killings and destruction of the SE will continue and there will never be an ending to it, until the people condemn evil (hunchback namadi cownu and his Ipob/ESN cannibals).

Ohaneze should not provoke me o or ogwugwu ajohia will be unleashed on them. When that bastard Kanu was ordering you guys all around after sniffing cocaine and ordering the death of soldiers and police men, many of you were supporting him. Now the chicken have come home to roost, you are now crying wolf. Many of you now carry out traditional marriages in Lagos and Ugwu awusa. Tufiakwa ! alu melu Igbo ! This is just the beginning. For those in Onitsha , go ahead and continue sitting at home , Awka no send una again o. No sit at home in Awka . Those of you still sitting at home in Nnewi, jisike, more grease to una elbow o but at the end of the month, don't forget to pay Soludo the usual monthly tax and he is about to increase it too and reduce workers salary. Yes ke, stop expecting your full salary when you only work three and half days in a week. Na Soludo fit una. And if you vex and decide to try rubbish , infact, if we hear E not to talk of S and followed by N ,in Anambra just know that Soludo's unknown gunmen or is it unknown gun vigilantes with better juju , well covered faces and sophisticated gun and govt equipped sienna vehicles are ever ready for you. Una must hear by force!

Simon Ekpa is the one that's supposed to be in prison and not Nnamdi Kanu

He has been so radical with zero strategies and with clear evidence emanating the past few days ago alleging that he is being sponsored by a front-line presidential candidate to stabilize the SE and reduce their boring strength

We need a good presidential candidate that will unite Nigerian and address the persisting issue in some parts of Nigeria feeling left out and that will be the only solution

Na Sunday our compatriots from Eastern Nigeria go no say Saturday no be day of rest. Even if you own the whole of Lagos and have a disproportionately share of the remaining parts of Nigeria, Igboland is the best for any reasonable Igboman. So why should any Igboman delight in destroying the homeland, when no be say you be the unfortunate sword that shreds its scabbard into pieces? All Nigerians without an exception must genuinely desire peace for Eastern Nigeria. A cooking pot for the lizard is the same cooking pot for the alligator.

For the first time, Ohaneze did not demand for the release of Kanu as a solution to sit at home in the South East.

For the first time, Ohaneze did not complain that fuel scarcity is targeting igbos travelling.

For the first time, Ohaneze didn't issue 7-Day ultimatum.

Simon Ekpa is the one enforcing sit at home but these old cowards are so scared of him that they can't mention his name.

Yesterday, Soludo's deputy who is a veteran in sleeping with University girls dismantled a military checkpoint on the road. Today, the fools in Ohaneze are asking why sir at home can't be stopped by security agents.

You guys don't want to tell yourselves the truth. When you are ready, you will give up your children who are destroying your land.

They should organize a hit squad that should be sent to Finland. Find that Simon Ekpenta, kill him, burn his body into ashes and dump it into the ocean.

We need to start eliminating those ordering terror attacks in Igboland.

Biafra? Can your 5-state structure sustain the idea of a modern state when most of the elites live outside? Igboland is landlocked. There must be peaceful arrangements about imports and exports, which the present combat disposition cannot help. Most Igbo elites live outside Igboland, meaning that such people will have to Iive as immigrants who will forever require Nigerian visas to live in other parts of Nigeria where they live presently. Imagine if Nigeria should decree that such people should return to Biafra (God forbid), will the landscape contain the returnees? To this end, it's obvious that the problem basically is finding the best way to manage our diversities and large population. Only an uninformed person would want the Igbo to leave Nigeria, not only because they're a major stakeholders in the Nigerian project, but because there's nothing the Igbo cannot do in Nigeria if the system is undergirded by justice, common sense and a sense of belongingness. But the Igbo too, have their own part to play, by looking inwards to reassess their stances and standpoints on national affairs. This can be done because we lower-class Nigerians live together everyday; it's politics that's tearing us apart.
