Defection Hits Anambra West As Political Leaders Move En Masse To ADC by miracle002(op): 9:06am On Jan 14
A significant political realignment has unfolded in Anambra West Local Government Area as prominent stakeholders from various political parties have officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The development, which occurred barely 18 days after Mr Peter Obi joined the ADC, saw the participation of leaders drawn from multiple parties across the local government area.

The three-hour meeting took place at the residential home of Chief Peter Udogalaya Aniekwe (Macpee Milinaliugwu), member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, in Oroma Etiti Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area. The gathering culminated in a unanimous agreement among participants.

Coordinating the defection were the Anambra West chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP), alongside a former All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) secretary and several other influential stakeholders, including aggrieved APGA members.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Sylvester Nnaluo, former Labour Party chairman, described the defection as an opportunity to pursue meaningful development and positive change for Anambra West. He criticised APGA’s stewardship of the state over the past two decades, stating that the party had failed to meet the people’s expectations.

He urged the new entrants to approach their ADC membership with seriousness, emphasising that the party would uphold transparency to avoid the internal crises and ethical lapses that plague other political platforms.

However, Chief Aniekwe, who is also the ADC leader in Anambra West, expressed confidence that the party would assume control of Anambra West. He described APGA as “an epitome of failure” and pledged to ensure accountability and transparency while working to attract developmental projects to the area through the ADC.

Also, Chief Charles Igbanugo Okafor, president-general of Ezi-Anam ward, described the defection as timely, saying it would facilitate necessary repositioning in Anambra West.

He maintained that the ADC is the only party capable of bringing transformative change to the area.

Similarly, the ADC chairman in Anambra West, Mr Jude Nwanegbo, formally welcomed the defectors and encouraged them to disseminate the party’s message across the constituency. He praised Obi’s leadership qualities, citing the Umueze Anam–Mmiata Anam Road project as an enduring example of impactful governance.

Beyond potentially uniting all opposition under one umbrella, Tinubu gained nothing from using the likes of Wike to destroy the PDP and LP. This is why he still feels like he owes Wike nothing.

Wike lobbied PDP committee to be Atiku’s running mate – Ex-gov’ship aspirant

Thu, 29 Sep 2022 14:33:04 WAT

Muazu Magaji, a former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano State, has alleged that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, lobbied members of the party’s committee constituted to advise the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on the choice of his running mate.

Magaji disclosed this while speaking on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily, on Thursday.

The Kano politician also argued that there was no proof that Atiku promised Wike the vice president position as claimed.

The PDP committee had recommended the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa; Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel and Wike.

The committee, however, scored Wike above the other two contenders but Atiku decided to settle for Okowa. A decision that has since unsettled Wike’s camp.

Magaji, however, claimed that Wike lobbied to be scored ahead of others, adding that the Rivers State governor should not be trusted with important positions in the country.

2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury

Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.

One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

Says a man who hijacked the party and singlehandedly produced the last 4 National Chairmen of the party for his own selfishness.

Says a man who accepted nomination to be running mate to Fulani Atiku.
He knew it was injustice to give Atiku the ticket yet he lobbied to be the VP.
grin grin

He knew the party had to go South for the 2023 election, yet he still put Secondus as National Chaiman just to hijack the party..
Only to push Secondus out because he wanted the ticket 2023.

This man remains the biggest problem of PDP.

He can only deceive and fool his minions, not reasonable people.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

Arguing that Obi’s presidential bid would only work in favour of Tinubu, Soludo said, “Indeed, if I were Asiwaju Tinubu, I would even give Peter Obi money as someone heading one of the departments of his campaign, because Obi is making Tinubu’s pathway to victory much easier by indirectly pulling down PDP.”

Obi, according to Soludo, would only deplete the votes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pave the path for an APC victory.

He stated, “The current fleeting frenzy, if not checked, will cost Ndigbo dearly for years. The South-east has the lowest number of votes of any region, but it is also the only region where the presidential race might be a four-way race (it is a two-way race in the other five regions) thereby, ensuring that our votes won’t count in the making of the next president of Nigeria.

After Soludo already secured his second term? This my eople in SE can't stop amusing me.

I want to ask pls is it a sin for SE too raise their political party APGA into a standard National Party that everybody will want to join? They said Ojukwu is the lord yet he co-founded APGA they abadoned it and jumping here and there. Ojukwu wife Bianca want to contest for a political post in Anambra years back she was blocked and was told go to your state to do that.

Now atiku has spend all his loots to reshaped ADC see as they are opening teeth rushing their, una no dey do una own thing make others come join, why all these p*a*r*a*s*i*t*i*c nature over everything? Na wah ooo in 21st century yet no stable or standard entity and no political direction only jumping jumping!

We told you severally the current govt will only vacate Aso Rock in 2031 yet una no dey hear word. Sorry to tell you the truth but truth is truth "it will be 7 wonders for any igbo man to rule Nigeria" and if even that 7 wonders will happen in 2039 not with obi because the people that matters don't like him and don't trust him. I just dey pity some people wey never understand how Nigeria was programmed. Una eyes go clear i swear wallahi eyes go turn una...

Watch as they will not reason proper and refused to see their front and start attacking my comments and after 2027 the next you will hear is oh marginalisation, oh ready to exit Nigeria, oh it is Biafra or nothing etc..

The worst thing n life is when you are deceiving yourself after knowing the truth e go tey dat person for back seat wallahi.

After all the defection of Governors, the ruling party is still scared of 2027.

The beating Obi gave them in 2023 must have been very scary. Otherwise, how come a ruling party believes for them "To Win" in 2027 all governors must belong to their party. How then did they "win" in 2023?

Do u stay in Abuja?...we live in Abuja.

This is the only town no one has ever rigged since the time of Obasanjo...Wike can never rig Abuja.

This is the only town where foreign observers are going round showing the world how Nigeria election is going.

From 1999 to 2019 PDP won Abuja and no party has done so aside LP under Peter Obi...this time,it would be mass and unprecedented in the history of Nigeria. ADC under Obi would sweep the region like a tsunami such that the effects would be heard even in Nasarawa and Benue and Niger state and not excluding Kogi state.

Lastly,Tinubu is a goner.

An overhyped failure.
