That man is the reason why we have Federal Road Safety Corps today in Nigeria.
Professor started it in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Mr Jelil Adeyemi was the first official driver to Professor then...
It was Oyo Road Safety, later to all Southwest states before it metamorphosed to Federal Road Safety Commission , now Federal Road Safety Corps.

Every good things Nigeria is enjoying today started in our region...if I should be counting them...won po gan.
Ogbeni, so because he was appointed the first chairman of FRSC means he started it? Ordinary to do simple google search, una no fit. And una go come vex when Buhari call una lazy Nigerian youths. If only this my oraimo cord fit locate that una bald head angry

This might be true. I stand 6 foot one inch, and Wole Soyinka stands at least 6 foot 4 inches. I know this for a fact, having been surprised at his towering physical height and athletic bulk when I first saw him at that time.
+
Something must be misaligned. Either in terms of where either of you were standing, or vantage point or age. Because I have also stood beside him and he cant be any where near 6'4. But the difference, and why I added age as a factor, is that I stood beside him in his old age.

Note that Abacha and IBB were very short.

Ogun is the God of Iron who presides over the activities and destinies of blacksmiths and hunters in Yoruba tradition, just as Sango is the God of Thunder who harnesses the formidable power of nature when the skies turn grey and the ground trembles to the sound of inbound rolling thunder.

Do you believe in or practice African Traditional Religion?

This must have been before Tinubu betrayed Abiola after June 12.

The ayederu man has always been betraying Yorubas since before he used ori olori to enter Chicago.

This picture is photoshopped. Tinubu used to wear awo cap. He started wearing that 8cap a year to his reelection as Lagos governor.

Mathematically this translates
Mu² = Mu *u

Next time try
(Mu)² = (Mu) * (Mu)

As humans age above 60, their physical height can in some instances diminish to less than their earlier lifetime's stature, due to a subtle curvature that develops in the spinal column of some individuals, and the slight compression of the cartilage disks that separate the backbone's individual vertebrae bones.

My sole encounter with Wole Soyinka was decades ago, and he towered above my 6 foot-one height, at that time. Now that you mention it, there is a slight forward stoop in Kongi's stance, as can be discerned from recent video footage as the man resolutely proceeds north of 90 years young.

Do you believe in or practice African Traditional Religion?
The credence I assign African traditional religion is anchored in a recognition of the moral compass provided for believers by those ancient modes of worship, much in the same way that the Holy Bible's Ten Commandments could be regarded as a universal code of conduct distilled over centuries, for adherence by all who seek harmony with others by displaying compassion and refraining from inflicting harm.

A traditional African hunter who sneaks through the forest stealing animals from the traps set by others, has transgressed Ogun's statutes.

A person who deliberately harms others with premeditated acts may be warned to desist and repent for fear of invoking the wrath of Sango.

Great. I personally have respect for traditional religion. In much, even far above the Abrahamic ones.
The ethics of the ten commandments are generally good. The first four centre on the Jewish deity though, which I dont believe in.

Those ethics, as you said, are universal and should not be credited to the Jews alone.

He started wearing that 8cap a year to his reelection as Lagos governor.
The Lagos TAX monster planner was wearing his infinity sign cap before his reelection in 2003.

He only wore the Awo cap briefly for his 1999 campaign to deceive Afenifere elders who agreed to replace him with Engr. Funsho Williams for the election.

Funsho Williams was brutally murdered in the run up to 2027 election that politically unknown Fashola won, to keep Tinubu's progreThief master plan intact.

Do you think those who killed Funsho Williams were encouraged to do so because Obasanjo failed to deal with the killers of his AGF Bola Ige in the run up to the 2003 election? The election that he was going to lose to northerners who said he had a one term agreement. Thankfully Atiku stood with him then as Buhari tried and failed to get the job.

Some people were still trafficking heroin in Chicago at this point
Lol, it was more like helping launder money from heroin trafficking , not actually handling the goods.

Still a crime either way.

Money laundering is a despicable crime, you know. Especially if done for drug dealers.

Grow up, son. You are behaving like you are immature, and you are also acting like a data boy. APC, Tinubu and all of them are no good for nigeria.

You are a real student of poetry by your hyperbolic narration of Kongi in a succinct analysis.......Kudos.....

Jakumo:
Wole "Kongi" Soyinka, an African Lion in the Winter, whose storied life straddles the nebulous demarcation between mythology and history.

Over 90 yet still in robust health thanks to a lifetime hiking rainforests and savannas alongside fellow hunters and barefoot philosophers.

Wole Soyinka, a prolific literary icon for the generations in Africa, and far beyond her tumultuous shores where the sea meets the sand.

I was privileged to have crossed paths with this physical and intellectual giant once, many moons ago, when he pulled up at the wheel of an olive-drab Jeep and poured fourth traditional libation to mark the denouement of a chronicle not unlike his own.

He have always wanted to belong , he have always wanted to be on the side of the powerful, he loves the good things of life women , fine dining etc , that was never a man of the people like all those South American or South African writers
Re: Throwback Photo Of Sani Abacha With Wole Soyinka And JT Useni: 1989 by energy37: 3:39pm On Jan 14
you should be concern about what you will be remembered for. WS is a human being like yourself.
sweetjohn:
To the Yorubas, this Soyinka would be remembered as a noble laureate winner but to the rest of Nigeria and Africa, he will be remembered as a tribal bigot, supporters of evil and cultist and to the west (especially US), an ungrateful idiot and a waste of the prestigious laureate award.
