The coach is a goat, why did he bring in Chukwueze for penalty kick? Chukwueze is not good at PK.

He ought to have brought in Chukwueze immediately the extra time started not at the last minute.

The coach need more training, he is below par.

Referee was bias.

Super Eagles overall performance was woeful, they lacked the agility, zero attack, zero speed, poor passes, no switching of position to create space for accurate passes, the back and midfield hold ball too long causing Moroccans to overwhelm them and cut off the forwarders.

Coach didn't make the right substitutions at the right time.
Yet Morroco who did everything right could not score against the SE in 120 minutes.
Morroco got to Semifinal of the last World Cup and is No1 in Africa. Also the host.

Thiefnubuuu and his badluck! Since APC hijacked power, no cup has been won by Nigeria

Evil government always bringing badluck to the hardworking Super Eagles
Because they had a good tourney now, dem don become hardworking. Truth be told, when you look back at their dismal performances in the WC qualifiers, they surpassed all expectations with the way they cruised into the Semis.

Now just last year, the Super falcons and the D'Tigres won continental titles under this same govt. Bottom-line, while this Administration is a thorn in the flesh of majority of Nigerians, some people are still succeeding (big) in this harsh Tinubu's Administration.

Nigeria's Chelle eyes defensive game against Morocco

Soccer Football - FIFA World Cup - CAF Qualifiers - Nigeria Press Conference - Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Nigeria - October 13, 2025 Nigeria coach Eric Chelle during the...

Jan 13 (Reuters) - Nigeria could adopt a defensive approach and rely on counterattacks in their clash against hosts Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final on Wednesday, coach Eric Chelle said.
The 2023 edition finalists have scored 14 goals.

However, they will face Morocco, which has not conceded a goal from open play.
The Reuters Daily Briefing newsletter provides all the news you need to start your day.

The 48-year-old ex-Mali international stated that he will not only focus on stopping Real Madrid's Brahim Diaz, who has scored five goals in five consecutive games.

"I feel that my squad is tired, so I may have to change my approach," coach Chelle told reporters on Tuesday. "We might let Morocco have the ball and wait for them."

"We have seen that they struggle when they come up against a low block. I think we will start like that. We will try to hold on in the first half and then play our game in the second half," he added.

Morocco needed a late strike from Diaz to secure a 1-0 win over Tanzania in the round of 16, before showing their abilities in a convincing 2-0 victory against Cameroon to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2004.

Algeria and Morocco are two good teams with good players, but Morocco doesn't play like Algeria, and Walid Regragui isn't Vladimir Petkovic. I will have to work, and my group too, to beat this team tomorrow," Chelle said.

In the penalty shoot-out Morocco were more clinical, and their keeper made key saves when it counted. It’s painful for us fans, but fair play to the hosts they deserved to go through to the final and will face Senegal.

Super Eagles played well in this competition, losing to Morocco in penalties in a well fought game. I know your beloved Ghana, did not qualify for this AFCON (abysmally coming last in their qualifying group) but I will surely root for them in the World Cup. Don’t forget to root for Eagles in the third place match … One West Africa bruv!
So when did u realise wer’e one west African?
Was it before or after the match?🤣😂🤣

Dude there was nothing competitive about the match did u see the statistics? stop kidding urself u had only 2 shots and only one was on target in over 120 min…🤣😂😂
The fear of trolling u made u search for me even before the final whistle don’t turn it around on me🤣😂🤣

Be prepared am coming for u…🤣😂😂

Mr Man, stop talking crap.

Even a child knows the coach messed up.

What was Akor still doing there when it was clear he was out of his depth?

Who is this Akor sef?

Since when did he become starter in semi finals for Eagles out of nowhere?

Why did Chelle not play Samuel Chukwueze when it was clear we were struggling to break down Morocco?
Mr child is this what you do for a living or did you lose your life savings in the semifinal?

My brother not until when I get to the USA and got the opportunity to see how the civilised people accept defeat with less heartache and move on. That was when i began to have a positive mindset towards our boys.

Learn to have this attitude of win some and lose some.

Learn to see our sports men like one of them is your siblings. Stop having negative vibes towards people .

I won’t mention you again oo but because I know you won’t back down.

But Only a fool will reply my message!

Coach didn't make the right substitutions?
Like who and who were in that bench that would have created the needed impact when sub?
Chukwu Eze and Dele Bashiru that were brought in,what did they do aside killing the game?
The coach really try jareh!
Osimhen and Onyeka that were supposed to play penalty, why did the left at the time they were leaving if not to dodge the responsibility of penalty taking?
How did Chukwueze kill the game when he came in one second before the referee ended the game? 🤔

Our coach messed up. The penalty takers should have been:

1. Nwabali
2. Lookman
3. Onuachu
4. Bassey
5. Akor

Penalty is a game of confidence.
And if these ones miss, na you go still come out to insult the coach. Come on gerrout of here you armchair analyst angry

Nigeria try abeg. No blame at all to anyone.
Afterall, we had possession too and we held Morocco till the end without any major threat. To even see say Morocco dey on the defensive too show say dem fear us too. Fair result for me.

The truth must be said, morrocco deserve to win the match because they dominated most of the game and were the better team.

This match was disappointing for the super eagles who played really well in this competition.

I knew that the morrocans would play the pressing game on the eagles who succumbed to their pressure for most of the game.

Morroco will beat Senegal and win the afcon,
How can u say the SE were disappointing? Playing against a good side who is the host nation at the semis and holding them to a goaless draw is not a a small fit.
Our boys tried. Even Top European teams won't have it easy with morocco in their backyard

In contrast to their other matches, the super eagles disappointed in this game.

The super eagles showed them too much respect, and this showed by having just one attempt at goal throughout the match.

Well, it's your opinion, but to me the super eagles performed below par in this game.
