Who Remember This Lamp Glass? by Ab0bii(op):
The beating I received because of this kerosene lamp glass will not be forgotten.
This glass can break before you even touch it, and it gets dirty easily which makes it impossible to avoid it.

LoL 😂😂
You can't be careful with that glass as a kid, you must made a mistake for once in say 10 washing sessions.
Wahala if your playmates are with you, one thing must lead to the other for it to break

This should be in our museums and I'm not joking about this. I've seen it in some museums abroad.

This picture is from the Hong Kong History Museum

Poverty and incompetence is so ingrained in nigerian culture because why would you be having neurosis on a passe object.
What has this topic got to do with poverty?

someone dropped me off at the bus stop on Tuesday and we spoke about kerosene, he asked if Nigeria can ever go back to the use of kerosene. Coming across this post gave me a memory of mixed feeling. I basically would want to fix the wool holder to make it shine brighter and would eventually land myself in big trouble when that glass that we normally call (eyin) breaks. You don’t understand the kind of trouble that I am talking about if you don’t have the bigger sizes of these lantern 😁. The prices of the glass varies directly with the size of the lantern. I remember the innocent me trying to melt nylon to fix the broken glass one day, the frustration that I had that day ended up in serious beating 😁. Kerosene lantern didn’t give a lot of us sweet memories.
