Apparently, this is not so much as acquiescing to China and its leadership efforts at heralding a "new world order" as it is to spite Trump and his MAGA sycophants!
The moment Trump gets out of office, either via impeachment or tenure-expiration and the new US leadership decides to reset ties with her most important neighbour and ally, trust me this same politician wouldn't hesitate to label same China as the leader of the "Axis of Evil whose only stated objective is flouting and thrashing the rules-based order that has been in place since before the foundations of the earth were formed!"
