There has been a lot of chatter here about the US and her power projection capabilities vis-ร -vis her military deployment and military installations around the world(friendly bases) Power projection using military means, involves a nation's ability to rapidly deploy and sustain military forces far from its borders to achieve different goals. Stationing military forces and military hardware in a foreign region is very crucial for projecting military power in any given llocality. The benefits of maintaining foreign military bases can not be overemphasised, as it is an essential tool for power projection, this move enables nations to deploy and sustain forces far from home for rapid response, deterrence, and influence,They also act as hubs for logistics, intelligence, and strategic positioning. Using this simple analogy if Russia's diplomatic Corps were to be kidnapped in far away west Africa, will Russia lunch ICBM from deep inside Russia to attack targets in africa?? the first thing the Russians will do is to look for a staging area close to the targets area and bring in specialist troops and military hardware. Having significant military assets in a region serves as a springboard to project military power in the surrounding areas. The US forces who struck shoodboi2 relatives in Sokoto all formed part of the US africa military community in africa. Africom which is headquarters in Djibouti. The naval elements of the strikes are part of the US Navy six fleet, which caters for waters within and around the african continent. These military assets presently sited within and around the african continent means the US has and possesses rapid military capabilities to strike anywhere in africa within the shortest of time. In September 2015 when Assad called on Russia to help him. Why didn't the Russian military planners fire ballistic missiles from bases inside Russia to hit targets in Syria, just like our in-house "seasoned military experts" would ignorantly suggest?? Instead, the Russian military moved assets from bases in Russia into air bases in Syria. Russian bombers were also deployed inside Iran's Hamedan Airbase to conduct raids over Syria?? Russia long-range strategic bombers were firing air-launched cruise missiles into Syria.. the biggest question is why didn't Russia rely on her vast amount of landbased missiles to do the job in Syria?? Why move these military assets to a foreign friendly bases and use it as a springboard to project military power?? Why did the Russian naval war planners move naval military assets from the Russian black sea fleet headquarters in Sevastopol, all the way to the eastern Mediterranean sea?? Why not just sit back and allow ICBM rain on rebel strongholds in Syria.. During the hay days of Russia's intervention in Syria..the Russians had assembled the largest Naval group in the eastern Mediterranean, which included Admiral Kuznetsov Russia's only aircraft carrier.. Even after the fall of Assad. Russia still deemed it fit to negotiate with the current regime over the use of the military facilities in Syria. The answer is simple, Russia administered military facilities in syria is the only military footprint they have in the region.. Without those military bases in Syria, Russia simply has no means to project power in the middle-east. Another example is the war between Iran and Israel. During the first exchange between the Jews and the Iranians. The US were able to put jets in the air to intercept projectiles from Iran, and also US military naval vessels were aslo able to intercept missiles. all these were possible because of US military assets present in the region in foreign bases. In any potential war between the US and Iran, the US has the ability to strike anywhere in Iran due to her military tentacles in the region. While Iran simply can't do the same. She doesn't have the military capabilities to do so. Also, crucially, Iran lacks the ability to project power in the americas.. imagine if Iran had a military base in, let's say, Cuba.. they could be able to easily target the continental US. Military bases and the stationing of military assets are vital tools when countries want to project military power You simply can't gained military intelligence by firing ballistic missiles, you can't enforce a no-fly zone with ballistic missiles, and you can't conduct specialised military operations by firing ballistic missiles from one continent to another Another critical need for military bases and the deployment of military assets to foreign lands is the strategic location of different countries. Using the US military base in Djibouti. Djibouti sits on the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, guarding access to the Suez Canal, making it critical for global shipping. There are reason the US is there, and the Chinese are also there. They have a naval installation there too, Even Russia is also trying to secure a naval installation in Libya. They are salient reasons why these countries are seeking to mount military bases in certain corners of the world |

WriterrNg:Persia calling their bluff. Taco chickened out because none of those ME countries are willing to sacrifice their safety to grease US bullying. The fact that the US had to move air defense weapons and carriers from South Korea, Japan, and elsewhere to other places shows the US military is under severe stress and lacks resources to conduct even a single major operation on its own. This factor is caused by one major thing: the sheer senseless and continuous inefficient drain in Ukraine, where Russia keeps destroying all Patriot and other NATO air defense systems, draining interceptor missiles as well. Consequently, this renders US and NATO bases across the ME and Europe defenseless. It also eliminate the option to attack Iran without suffering heavy retaliation and consequences. |

โกPresident Zelenskyy: The United States wants to end the war tomorrow, and we'd like to do it even today. And we understand that postponement with ending the war is on Russia's side. Here's the simplest example. In the end of last year there were agreements about exchanging our people, prisoners of war, a thousand people. Russia is delaying all processes, starting with the humanitarian track. They postponed the exchange of 1,000 people. Let's exchange at least five hundred. They postponed. Let's exchange everyone for everyone. They postponed. So, who's postponing? Who doesn't want to end the war? It's not a question of wanting, it's the question of pressure. Enough pressure for Russia is what's needed for everything to be over.

Tinubu should strike a similar deal, thus making official the Chinese offer to remove tariffs on goods exported from African countries to it. bryght4u:Thank you o! I don't trust Western politicians in their approach towards China, including the likes of Spain and even Hungary. Na because of poor economy and Trump's unfriendly attitude, which makes some try to mend ties with China. A Western country - Italy - has been reported to be preventing a Chinese company from obtaining contract approval, not because it is not qualified, but because of pressure from the US. They are even making moves to cut off the Chinese investors in some of their (Italian) companies. https://archive.md/2026.01.15-120510/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-15/italy-faced-us-pressure-to-cancel-contracts-with-china-s-nuctech During David Cameron's tenure, his Chancellor of the Exchequer Osborne called for a bromance with the Chinese, but as China's economy grew and the level of sophisticated goods increased, they changed tune. The likes of New Zealand and Australia are just smiling because of economic benefits; they will antagonise China so badly. Australia was puffing up during COVID until the Chinese barred its agricultural products, then the new guy relaxed. The same Canada orchestrated the arrest of the daughter of the CEO of Huawei (a Chinese corporate icon), a company the US literally wanted to kill off, but thankfully it survived and has gotten stronger and bigger. I want to believe the Chinese aren't fazed by this bromance. Na condition make them bend, not because they suddenly like the Chinese. Honestly, there is nothing as sweet as being financially independent and strong. Kudos to the Chinese for their feat! |

I remember LordAdam in Pansop.hist thread about multilateralism explained how the Chinese are so flush with excess cash looking for where to invest. Real estate markets have been locked against foreigners. especially the Chinese in the most preferred countries such as Canada and Australia. Factories and companies could be seized from you simply because you are Chinese. This is after you don invest o. We have seen this in the Netherlands and now Italy. Even in the UK, the same has happened. So, as it is, it would be hard for a Chinese investor to invest and gain significant control in Western companies. It is even going to be way harder for an ethnic Chinese to head sensitive departments in most Western companies. There are academic studies to support this, especially in the US, and we watched how a Singaporean was asked embarrassing questions simply because he is an ethnic Chinese, even when he is not a Chinese national. So, hopefully, they will move more into the African continent as they have done across Southeast Asia and partly South America. Open factories, build plants, construct warehouses yanfu-yanfu. What we need across our continent are investments and jobs powered by loooong and patient capital. https://archive.md/2026.01.16-013349/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-16/china-s-1-2-trillion-windfall-quietly-seeps-into-global-markets |

The geopolitical challenges faced by Chinese investors in Western markets highlight the growing need for long-term, strategic investments in emerging regions like Africa. It's crucial to focus on creating jobs and building sustainable infrastructure that fosters economic growth and opportunity. |

Gerrard59:The West will never like the Chinese - impossible! The Canadian PM is just dancing Azonto so he can be seen to be acquiescing to Beijing. In reality, Trump has trumped them so hard, income and business from the US has deeped. He's in China trying to save his country's ass and, like the typical politician that he is, will not miss the moment to whisper something sweet into the ears of Panda. Trust this is altruistic and you're a learner! Like you pointed out, China invested massively in Italy. But forced to choose between Washington and Beijing, they chose the former and even dropped the Belt and Silk Road Project like a hot potato after becoming the first Washington ally to sign it off! Two rules when dealing with the West: Number one: Never trust a politician, especially from the West, in their dealings with China and the Axis generally. If America asks them to bite the hand that held them up in Beijing during the time of their crisis, they'd just ask how deep should the bite go! Number two: don't forget rule number 1! |

What else is there to do in life but Maoism? The Communist Party Of Nigeria is forever indebted to the Chinese for giving us a weapon, the weapon is not a machine gun but Maoism! Paper tiger America is the greatest coward ever known to mankind. The king of backdoor deals in order to deceive a gullible world that they are tough. Americans and Europeans are capitalists who love their luxuries, yacht and smelliing cocaine addicted supermodel. They don't want to die. The minute they realize you are a lunatic die-hard Maoist who is willing to sacrifice 7billion of the world's population in order to bring forth Maoist paradise they flee. "All political power comes from the barrel of a gun"- Mao 60 years ago, the Chinese were technologically as backward as African nations of today, look at them today, what happen? They organized, hated Christianity, hated western imperialism, hated influence of global capitalism over their motherland, followed a true vanguard Chairman Mao Zedong, started a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist revolution, won, dealt with Russia to get nuclear bomb. Chairman Mao Zedong cleared the pathway for future Chinese leaders to come! True Marxist never forgets! The day Taiwan dares declare independence you will understand fhe full meaning of Maoism "Let's contemplate this, how many people would die if war breaks out. There are 2.7 billion people in the world. One-third could be lost; or, a little more, it could be half... I say that, taking the extreme situation, half dies, half lives, but imperialism would be razed to the ground and the whole world would become Maoist"- Chairman Mao Red salute to Hugo Chavez! obedience4:
