Built2last:Why won’t they finally succumb when while they were agitating for meritocracy, the other southerners were being silly and unreasoning? Check the reports again, SE and SS universities voted in support of the silly northern proposal. They even planted a northerner to head the body when the Yoruba man resigned in protest. Shame on the South! |

DeLaRue:Just like Azikwe opposed Awolowo's inclusion of freedom of exit of any region from Nigeria. Now they are suffering the consequences. |

mcquin:Who and who support quota system. This is record staring you in the face that the Yoruba rejected quota system. Present your document that state they have changed their stance |

For the sake of argument, let us agree Igbos supported it then, seeing the wisdom in meritocracy, they have leaned in that direction. Why would those who at the start saw the wisdom in merits, switch to quota system? We Dey go back or front? |
| Re: 1972 Article Where South West Students Opposed Quota System In Admissions by Ttalk: 5:58pm On Jan 16 |
mcquin:How did the Yoruba switch to support quota system. Be specific and stop mumbling words. The wrong rannation many of you want to pain on SM requires immediate rebuttal. The people that were sharing wheelbarrow as constituency project want to measure SW in governance. Yet they were fleeing their region in droves, from Akure to Indian to Abeokuta has become their heaven on earth. |

Ttalk:Buhari is a product of the system and yorubas in their numbers supported him on here for 8 years. I cannot begin to comb threads here where concerns have been raised about quota system especially in admissions into our schools. It’s always “your side” supporting the lunacy. It serves me no good arguing this as it is akin to asking me for proof whether yorubas supported Buhari, a total waste of time. |

mcquin:You still chose to defend the most stupid and indefensible thing despite the facts and evidence staring at you straight in the eyes. Now imagine it was the South Westerners who voted in support of this very quota system, were you and your kinsmen going to be this calm? Wouldn’t this thread be filled with biles and tantrums already? Now we know who and who are the true fulanis’ slaves. They dance to the tunes of the Fulanis from time immemorial. Which juju did the Fulanis even use on those other southerners who supported it when the sane ones walked out? |

| Re: 1972 Article Where South West Students Opposed Quota System In Admissions by Ttalk: 6:05pm On Jan 16 |
mcquin:Stop ranting and speak fact. SW still maintain the highest entry requirement into the university up till today. Bring your fact that show SW support quota system. Maybe Nigeria started in 2015. Who support Shehu Shahari a mere nursery school teacher and even deputized him. Who support and organize 1million match for Sanni Abacha Today you are presenting a 3rd class graduate of Philosophy to come and govern Nigeris |

UrVillageChief:Before spitting vile, I think you should see my rejoinder on this. For ease, I’ll reproduce; For the sake of argument, let us agree Igbos supported it then, seeing the wisdom in meritocracy, they have leaned in that direction. Why would those who at the start saw the wisdom in merits, switch to quota system? We Dey go back or front? |

UrVillageChief:You dey mind him. They were in government right from the 80s and throughout the military regime and up to Jonathan regime eating, dinning and wrecking the economy, today they are crying because they lost and now trying to change the story. |

mcquin:Can you explain how Igbo have leaned in the direction of meritocracy |
| Re: 1972 Article Where South West Students Opposed Quota System In Admissions by UrVillageChief: 6:22pm On Jan 16 |
mcquin:Why should any sane person even agree to such a ridiculous idea? Let’s start with that. This is not me assuming or insinuating that they (those in support of it) are/were sane but c’mon, why agree to such a silly arrangement in the first place? What exactly are you on about with your “switch to quota system” when the SW universities still have the highest requirements/cut-offs for admissions in the country? So at what point exactly did they support quota system? Do you even know what quota system means because obviously you don’t because I can see you keep mentioning Buhari . So I’m forced to ask, how exactly does democratically electing a man into a political office translate into quota system my friend? HE WAS ELECTED INTO THE OFFICE BECAUSE HE MERITED IT AFTER HAVING WON THE MAJORITY OF THE VOTES CAST, HE WASN’T GIVEN!. I just broke it down for you in the most elementary way possible. If your region hadn’t supported the quota system and you were properly educated, you wouldn’t be making this blunder. |

SeeWahala:yes, you are right. The quota system ensures fairness not equality. That's all that matters

SeeWahala:una too like cry sha……even from the simple knowledge of history that clearly shows Yorubas have always been an advocate of justice and equality and will never support oppression of anyone and have always been at the forefront of justice just like we have been known to have a large number of human rights activists that have always championed that course, such as the late fela, gani, falana, Soyinka etc just to mention a few…..while your tribemen are nowhere to be found but always active online crying while Yorubas are sticking their neck out for the rest of the country. The same freedom and Biafra you clowns are crying for now would have been achieved without having to go to a senseless war that claimed the life of 3million of your ancestors if your kinsman Azikiwe had listen to voice of wisdom and foresight when Awolowo also propose the referendum clause should be added to the constitution but instead, due to his short sightedness he refused and made it a treasonable offence and here you are today cry and begging for what you should have had on a platter. It’s good history like this keeps reminding us of the people or tribe that really fought for the development and advancement of this country and history will always be kind to the Yorubas just like we have it here now……so you should rather learn instead of always turning logic upside down, in your usual characteristic and trait and I hope the FG can bring back history to our curriculum and make it compulsory so ignorant clowns like you and your kind out there can learn.

Yorubas, always at the forefront of radical protests against government imposition of regional and ethnic centric policies. |

UrVillageChief:If you can’t see the nexus between the Buhari question and the quota system considering the premise made earlier, I’m sorry I can’t engage further. |
| Re: 1972 Article Where South West Students Opposed Quota System In Admissions by dequir: 6:37pm On Jan 16 |
pongwa:So why is the quota system still operating till today, when all formerly backward regions and ethnics are supposed to have educationally and developmentally caught up with each others? |
| Re: 1972 Article Where South West Students Opposed Quota System In Admissions by dequir: 6:47pm On Jan 16 |
anonimi:Blindsided trash talks as always, just for maniacal hatred of Tinubu. What a waste it would be if you continue doing this for the next 6 years, when your assumed enemy will leave his presidential post. |

H dequir:the problem is not the quota system, blame the political actors |
