| Re: Makoko Residents Protest Property Demolition by Johnson5258: 6:54pm On Jan 16 |
In as much as I feel pity for them, but I can't use emotions to judge this matter. Even people with documentation are going through same challenge. If government develop that place, its going to be a very beautiful. That's not befitting. |

I guess it is time now for Sanwo-Olu to complete the madness, all the name of development and building befitting buildings for the rich to occupy while the poor can go to hell |
| Re: Makoko Residents Protest Property Demolition by Berankis: 7:10pm On Jan 16 |
When are we ever going to get it right in this country. All these elitist style of Government is what gives rise to terrorism. You can't just demolish people's homes without any form of rehabilitation. Are they go in Ng to sleep on those canoes now? Including all those children, what kind of life is this? This Lagos State Government and their Federal Master will perish in the end. |

| Re: Makoko Residents Protest Property Demolition by hotseat: 7:10pm On Jan 16 |
Makoko is weird, to say the least! It's an eyesore to the ambience of the Third Mainland Bridge and poses a serious health hazard to human life. It requires a very drastic government action to effect demolition and evacuation of the squatters. It's a very difficult decision to make but it has to be taken willy-nilly. However, both the federal and state governments should sensitize the people on the need for them to evacuate the floating slum and ensure some form of compensation so as to put a human face to the exercise. @hotseat |
