⚡Senator Graham on Iran: To the Arab world, I’ve tried to be very hopeful to build on the Abraham Accords, but this idea of saying one thing behind closed doors and something else in public is coming to an end. I’ve called Arab allies and said, “You need to correct the record.” If you did, in fact, intervene to stop this action, that means you really don’t understand what America’s interests are and your own interests. How can you ask Trump to do that after he’s encouraged people to go out in the streets and risk their own lives? That is such a narrow view, a distorted view, and quite frankly a sick view of what to do. I don’t want to be aligned with that.

⚡Senator Graham on Iran: I would never vote for any kind of agreement that would bind us to any Arab country that did this. If, after Trump empowered people to feel like their freedom was at hand, you believe we should wind this down and you’re okay with the regime standing after all this, I don’t want to be aligned with you. I don’t want to do a treaty with you.

Syrian government forces reported entering Tabqa from multiple sides on Saturday, encircling SDF positions at the nearby military airport after seizing villages like Al-Mansurah with local tribal help. The SDF denied any incursions, stating they cleared sabotage cells from Al-Mansurah and maintained full control. Conflicting reports from the area described local uprisings, celebrations, and casualties, amid ongoing clashes near key Euphrates infrastructure despite a recent U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The fluid fighting threatens SDF supply lines in a strategic zone long contested after ISIS battles. This is a battle of NATO vs NATO ![]() |

⚡Starmer responds to Trump: Our position on Greenland is very clear — it is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and its future is a matter for the Greenlanders and the Danes. We have also made clear that Arctic security matters for the whole of NATO, and allies should do more together to address the threat from Russia across different parts of the Arctic. Applying tariffs on allies for pursuing the collective security of NATO allies is completely wrong. We will, of course, be pursuing this directly with the US administration.

⚡A senior German politician has suggested Germany could boycott the 2026 World Cup as a last resort if tensions escalate over Trump’s threats to annex Greenland. Jürgen Hardt said the idea is meant to pressure Trump, noting how important the tournament is to him. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. |

⚡Macron: A united and stable Syria can only be achieved through the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces within its institutions, and not through war against those who fought alongside us against ISIS. The offensive by the Syrian authorities must stop immediately. France and Europe will not be able to support the continuation of such an approach.

⚡German far-right AfD Leader Alice Weidel: We’ve heard years of loud outrage about Putin violating international law — now those same critics are strangely quiet when Trump does what they criticized Putin for: violating sovereignty in Venezuela and with Greenland.

bryght4u:Then you have the US requesting its allies vassals to increase their rare earth/critical minerals output so they can reduce China's control. https://archive.md/2026.01.16-112945/https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-15/us-asks-allies-to-step-up-measures-on-chinese-critical-minerals At the same time, the US is threatening major EU nations with sanctions unless they let go of Greenland. Sometimes, I can understand the "Do Nothing and Win" posture from Xi. At other times, I believe this is all a public standoff orchestrated by the US-led West to deceive unsuspecting countries, and I wonder what the Chinese will do when their dominance over rare earth/critical minerals is reduced. In all, I don't pity EU countries as their sifia pains are well deserved. They cut off Chinese demand for ASML, Chinese EVs and cheap Russian gas all for the hordes of embarrassment from the US. Now, they are stuck. China should demand the highest access to their markets when they come begging, because they would. Beggars are not choosers. ![]() |

⚡German far-right AfD leader Alice Weidel draws a comparison: Putin violated international law in 2022, and since then there has been constant outrage — even talk of him being a murderer — without any acknowledgment that Russia also sees its security interests threatened by NATO’s eastward expansion. Trump is implementing the Monroe Doctrine — essentially the same logic, just from the other side. The doctrine means tolerating no hostile power in America’s backyard, including South America.

⚡Jordan Bardella, leader of France’s far-right party National Rally: As for the claims made over the Danish territory of Greenland, they constitute a direct challenge to the sovereignty of a European state. But once again, commercial and strategic interests prevail for the United States of America, and we must take note of that.

WriteerNg:Except these people are not putting up a public posturing considering their shared histories and belligerence towards China and Russia, the EU cannot do anything if the Trump-led administration decides to take over Greenland. If Trump is damn serious about taking Greenland, he would do it, and nothing would happen. What is good for Venezuela is also good for Greenland. |

Trump tariff threat over Greenland 'unacceptable', European leaders say -response from most of Europe pretty clear. No new colonialism. We will not surrender to Trumps trade bullying. Only fence sitter Italy of the large EU states refuses to condemn him. |
