A fairly used HP 14 or HP 15 with an Intel Core i3 or Intel Pentium processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD will serve your purpose. In Lagos, you will get it at 200k or less while in Abuja above 200k

I advise you increase your budget to 250k and buy HP EliteBook 840 G3, Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD.

The Microsoft Office files in your laptop has corrupted. There is need to uninstall it completely and reinstall it.

In view of the above, I suggest you upgrade to Windows 10 and also reinstall all the necessary applications back to your laptop.

If you base in Abuja, contact me for further assistance but if not kindly specify your area so as to get support from tech guys on this section.

Thanks.

Do the following:

Click start
Type cmd (Run as Administrator)
Once the black cmd window opens type below command
chkdsk c: /f /r /b
Click Y or Yes if it prompts to schedule disk check in the next boot
Restart your PC and wait for the disk check to complete

If after the above it persists kindly revert back for further assistance.

pls my laptops keyboard is auto typing some keys, replacing 3 keyboards didn’t fix the issue, I’ve also formatted the laptop but the issue persists. Is there a way to fix this issue permanently?

I understand but you would have left it to finish because force stopping it can damage your SSD. Next time try and run it while charging the laptop and allow it to complete after several hours. Chkdsk fix a lot of bugs in operating system and storage device.

However, stage 5 fixes a lot of issues so it is highly recommended you repeat the disc check to sort out the issues or backup and reset the laptop.

Thanks.

I am trying to understand you well and will appreciate if you make a detailed description of the issue for further assistance.

Clarify us on what you mean by auto tying some keys?

Also specify your laptop configuration

Processor:
RAM:
Storage:
(Storage should be made clear if running on HDD or SSD)

To this end, you may be facing lagging or hanging issue and not keyboard.

Thanks.

At this point, the best thing is to do a fresh installation of Windows 11 Pro 24H2, after that install all device drivers. It is possible the issue is from the OEM OS recovery tool hence need to wipe the disk completely and reinstall fresh OS. If you need further assistance kindly let me know.

Good day techies.

My HP PROBOOK 640 G2 has been giving me issues.
Recently I tried switching it on but I noticed the screen won't come up but the keypad light will come on for like 5secs after which it will go off except the power button and two others which will stay on, also the caps lock will blink twice before the caps lock goes off
At same time the fan will be working very loud and aggressively, no matter how much U try the screen won't come up also the buttons won't respond.. The laptop will only go off when you long press the power button.
Note: I took it to few engineers and it was confirmed nothing is wrong with the RAM and the SCREEN/DISPLAY.
Right now I'm confused and frustrated.

Location is ABUJA

From your complaint, I will like to know what the engineers you took it to identified to be the problem.

It is suggesting your BIOS may have failed hence the reason for the blank screen.

To assist you further, kindly let us know in detail what the engineers diagnosed.

I am in Abuja and available to assist you once you respond accordingly.

They didn't really identify anything per say, I was told to drop the laptop and come back later but I refused cos I wasn't convinced.

Tell the engr you want to reprogram the BIOS file, the 2 blink light on keyboard and loud fan speed indicates that your bios is corrupted.

I have someone in ABJ that can fix it for you if you're interested.

The Os was reloaded weeks ago and I've updated the system to the latest yet the issue still persist, i ran the chkdsk, it's been over 24 hours yet its at 40 percent at stage 5, I'm considering force shutting it down again.... I think the ssd is failing what do you think?

Yes it is possible the SSD is failing so replacing and testing with another SSD becomes a good option.
