Ooni was the permanent chairman. In fact Alaafin adeyemi told Olubadan asanike that how can ooni from ife be permanent chairman that they should be rotating it among them. Olubadan asanike sat on ooni permanent chairman seat then and ooni walked away. That's how osun state was created

I get am before no be property. Oyo empire is dead and gone. Alaafin only controls 3 local governments. There is no way Alaafin would be permanent chairman over Olubadan. In fact Alaafin has never been the permanent chairman. It's only ooni
How many local governments does Ooni have, based on your logic? grin

While I understand Makinde's haste in inaugurating the traditional council. His term ends next year and the first rotation would end after his term. He should have brought the Olubadan and Alaafin to agreement before doing so.

When Oba Ladoja was governor, Alaafin Adeyemi was permanent chair. It was Akala that brought the rotational chair idea and the Alaafin went to court. For that reason, no council meeting held for a long time.

Makinde has the privilege of installing all these obas, he should have got them to come to terms either before installation or inaugurating the council. He has postponed the mess to his successor.
There is no mess anywhere. This has come to stay

Oòni was permanent chair of old Oyo state. Asanike wasn't. Alaafin Adeyemi is the only permanent chair of the new Oyo state. It's not history.
Alaafin is not permanent chairman of oyo state. Olubadan asanike was once permanent chairman. You clearly don't know any history

Which history. I am telling you fact. You clearly know nothing about history. After ooni sijuade left in annoyance, Olubadan asanike did the permanent chairman for some period of time before Alaafin

Osun state is not oyo state. Ibadan was the last military power house. You don't expect Ibadan indigenes to accept Alaafin of oyo as permanent chairman when it was Ibadan that gave oyo atiba the land it's situated presently with the help of Ogbomosho

Logic logic logic, this is mere machiavellian approach typical of your type. Now Oyo is not Osun, since your logic won't hold water.

Obas are traditional rulers, when did local governments become Yoruba tradition? Ibadan grin grin grin

Ibadan did not give Oyo any land, Ibadan was a camp that did not even extend to Sango at that time not to talk of Moniya, and Ogbomoso was just a tiny hamlet under Olugbon when Abiodun Atiba moved base closer to Ago-Oja. Separate real history from tales by moonlight grin

The logic is Ibadan was the last powerhouse before the British came. You don't expect Alaafin to be permanent over Olubadan

Dude you are jon snow. Ibadan gave your atiba land. When kurunmi wants to destroy oyo, it was Ibadan that destroyed kurunmi of ijaye and that's why today ibadan is ijaye and ijaye is Ibadan

They are controlling their own domain.

Governor Makinde and the Oyo state house of asembly started the rotation for justice, fairness, and equity.

Truth be told, if not for Ibadan, Fulani would have colonized the whole of Yorubaland. They deserve their flowers.

If not for Ibadan, alot of us would have been bearing names like AbdulRaman, Abdullahi, Abdulmalik e.t.c just like in Ilorin. The Ibadans were the ones that stopped the conquest of the Fulani jihadist at Oshogbo on the their way to dip their sword in the Atlantic ocean as per the desire of Uthman Dan Fodio.
but ur bear Europeans' names. Black man mentality.

Alaafin didn't upgrade Ibadan from baale. He does not have such power. There is already governments in 1976. The government did. Ibadan has never been under the authority of oyo empire. Stop the beer parlour gist. In fact Ibadan once influenced who became alaafin
The majority of big cities in Yoruba land are majority Oyo. Ibadan, Ilorin, Ogbomosho, Ede, Iwo and etc. Modakeke in Ife which is up to half of Ife is also Oyo. Ibadan was working under the Alaafin. Abeokuta was under Oyo. When the Ibadan defeated Ilorin at Osogbo, the leaders that they captured were sent to Oyo for judgement. When Ibadan controlled Yoruba land they always said they were doing so on behalf of the Alaafin

A learned person would have asked:
Why did Ibadan attack Kurunmi for Oyo?
What's so special about Oyo to warrant a war where lots of people will definitely die?
You don't just go to war for the sake of it.
Use your brain bro.

You are the one who should use his brain. Kurunmi attacked oyo because atiba want his son adelu to be spared which is against the long standing rule of price being killed when Alaafin dies. Kurunmi objected, alaafin atiba seek the help of Ibadan and that's how Ibadan ijaye conflict started

The majority of people in Ibadan came from the Oyo Ile that was sacked by Ilorin. Every historian knows the Oyos from Ibadan etc that subdued the rest of Yoruba in the nineteenth century referred to themselves as workers of the Alaafin. The leader of Ibadan just before colonisation was Aare Latosisa and he was an Aare ona kakanfo appointed by the Alaafin. The cultural head of all Oyo is the Alaafin. The military headquarters was Ibadan and Ibadan was founded by Ile Ife before the Oyo became a majority there. Would you now say another monarch apart from the Alaafin is the cultural head of the Oyo?

Dude all these are stories. Alaafin do beg Ibadan with all these titles. And oranmiyan is an ife man. Oyo people are from ife. Alaafin has never for once controlled Ibadan so how do you expect us to accept Alaafin as our head

Deal with the present day if you dare, the Alaafin cannot claim suzerainty over any Yoruba subgroup anymore...

And by the way y'all need to make the present Alaafin consult a therapist, it will help him and all of you his subjects, by extension
