Borno Speaker Protests Omission Of VP Shettima’s Pictures At APC N/East event by treesun(op): 2:34pm On Jan 19

Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan, has protested exclusion of Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s picture on the banner portraying party leaders in the region.

The banner carried the picture of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, five APC Governors of the NorthEast and the National Legal Adviser.

Protesting, the speaker said it was unfair for the organisers to print the banner without the picture of the vice president, especially being that the event is taking place in his hometown.

He also recalled that similar omission triggered the fracas that disrupted the APC meeting in Gombe last year.

“This is what created the fracas in Gombe, and it’s repeating itself here in Borno. I don’t know the motive of the organisers but it’s not right.”

“How can the organisers exclude the picture of a sitting vice president, who is from Borno and the North East zone,” he said.

His complaint was re-echoed by the crowd, who responded with a thunderous applause.

Governors and stakeholders of the APC are currently in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, for the North East zonal public hearing for the amendment of the party’s Constitution.

Implosion don start already? The Northeast is waiting for Tinubu to replace Shettima as being speculated. We will all learn politics together! Tinubu was scheming to replace Shettima with Kwankwaso until Trump came and urinated all over their parade by allegedly instructing Tinubu to balance his ticket with a christian. Now they are in a dilemma.

I wanted to jump over this story, but the hand writings are there Shettima is gone. He knows too, the Speaker is just trying to buy time. Tinubu is one term. Thank God I am not the speaker. One m.s.g only check and ran away. grin

Who will Tinubu and his courts support

If Tinubu and the courts support wike and recognise his PDP faction, the remaining PDP governors will collapse their structure into ADC as many states have already done in the North East. ADC will become even stronger and fight Tinubu.

If the courts recognise Makinde faction, Wike will be without party and won't be able to go to APC to be under Fubara. Wike's political journey will end shamefully...

In any case double wahala for Wike..

That's a very good observation. The VP is currently outside the country representing his boss and Nigeria on official duties. And as such he must be respected. I really don't know why Northerners are in battle with Shettima over his position, many interest camps eyeing his position. This is strange though. But whether anyone likes it or not, Shettima remains the VP till 2031.
