Rejoinder to this post: Chukwueze In Hot Waters For Mocking His Teammates For Being Committed I watched the video and you can clearly see that Chukwueze’s comment was a joke—simple banter taken out of context. Why would anyone intentionally lose the game that could potentially get them more opportunities globally, over a salary? |

Another petty discussion. That was just a joke. He said he was determined to stop Sallah's penalty in response |

😁😁 Having your govt tagged terrorist by another Country your Countrymen rush to japka to is worse off than telling the World that your govt has not paid you . Apc only brought shame and ridicule to Nigeria. |

He should try same banter at his club and let’s see how the management will take it up. He said his mind. Stop twisting the narrative! |

Akwamkpuruamu:Stop making it about tribe! Anyone in the team who said such would have been rebuked by sport loving Nigerians! It is very crude, unprofessional and dehumanizing to the players who went beyond limits to get us a win. And now you trying to make it tribal like we don’t have other Igbo players in that team who did their possible best. |

You people should leave Chukwueze alone!! Leave him alone That’s why it’s penalty, and there would surely be misses… It’s time Nigerians stop bullying their players for some mistakes or misses That’s how they bullied Yakubu Ayegbeni, did same to Alex Iwobi last afcon and this time, it is Chukuweze.. Someone must make errors for the other team to win…. That’s football and that’s sport… Until they start to prosecute those bullying our sport stars before people will learn.. They already suffering lots of emotional damage for even losing , now you want to add to the pain and you think people would be willing to sacrifice for the country next time? Gyan of Ghana lost a penalty that would have made history at the World Cup, people have lost penalties at World Cup finals, Brahim penalty yesterday was even the worst in the competition |

jmoore:That should have been the point! Why wasn’t he paid. Not trying to change the narration of what he said. He meant what he said because he has not been paid. It’s that simple! |

Banter or no banter, that guy has outlived his relevance in that team. Chelle should start scouting for more players |

That content should not even be deliberated as a joke. Or wait, didn't the same team complain on their allowances before the semi-finals? |

jmoore:If he was being owed, he had every right to have protested, and even walked out. Not featuring in the match and mocking other players live on camera. If I am not paid for a service, I work out and resist to repeat same. I won’t protest by doing a bad job and saying it out on camera. He is a professional and knows better. |
