Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday visited former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at his hilltop residence in Minna, the Niger State capital, amid fresh speculation over their alleged involvement in manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 presidential election.https://dailytrust.com/obasanjo-visits-babangida-amid-2027-speculations/?noamp=available

Sources told Daily Trust that the two former leaders held a closed-door meeting that lasted about 30 minutes, after which Obasanjo returned to the airport. OBJ and short meetings be like 5 & 6 🤷🏿. |

These relics of expired relevance should kindly take several seats and remain firmly glued to them. They parade themselves as “elder statesmen,” yet behave like noisy party mascots who never got the memo that retirement exists. They’ve had their turns, some squandered it spectacularly, others merely warmed the seat while achieving nothing, and now they hover like political mosquitoes, buzzing around every election with unsolicited wisdom and fossilized opinions. It’s time they relaxed, sipped their tea, and stopped polluting the public space with interference nobody asked for. Let Nigerians choose their leaders without guidance from political antiques who mistake age for wisdom and nostalgia for relevance. |

Richtaiwo:How did you come to conclusion that the closed-door meeting was political?? Did you attend the closed-door meeting?? It could be business, it could be something aside politics. So how did you get this conclusion? |

manuelkel:It literally says “amid 2027 speculation.” Do I need to consult a prophet, summon a soothsayer, or crack open a crystal ball to grasp the obvious? Unless English has suddenly become hieroglyphics, the purpose of the meeting isn’t exactly hiding under a rock. |

I don't understand how one person can stay in his parlour since 1993 and still be controlling whatever happens in Nigeria. For you to be president of this country, you must visit this man. The funny thing is he doesn't bother himself with whoever is governor of Niger state. Yet, one frog voiced scare crow in Port Harcourt doesn't want to allow Fubara rest. |

Dogalmighty17:In that parlor lies the foundation of Nigeria's problems...so yes, the appendages of the problems must visit the place. ![]() |

Ever heard of IBB boys? Your state governor's political god father might be one or mentored by one of the IBB boys in politics. Dogalmighty17: |

There was a time Babangida looked so sick, that it's amazing he's up and running and getting involved in politics. |

Nigeria is currently 65 years old, out of which four men - - Buhari, Babangida, Obasanjo and Abacha, spent a combined period of 36 years in power. 65 minus 36, do the calculation and you will identity the biggest contributors to Nigeria problem. |
