Watch Mendy's position, watch Diaz Kick, more like they had a previous meeting on where to place the ball.

Abandoning that match at 100mins plus could have caused a big disgrace to Africa and CAF.

Senegal might still be sanction or fine for abandoning the game for almost 15 mins
You just like blind argument

It's those who did not watch that game have been the one arguing blindly.

Could you believe when the game was stopped, I had some terrible headache cos I just can't figure out what next. It was like, so I have been wasting my time to watch this competition and it got to final, the match abandoned.

Still having headache till this moment. The Senegalese must have been assured of something before returning back to the pitch. They left for the tunnel initially
Africa's would rather believe conspiracy theories than use common sense or work with facts and evidences..... what's ur proof that they were promised something before they returned?......a lot of them know the consequences of not returning already. undecided .

Diaz deliberately missed the penalty. Watch his reaction as soon as the goalkeeper caught the ball. The Senegalese were assured the penalty won't be scored that was why they continued with the match
Rest with this dumb talk....a paneka when score look beautiful but if miss looks like the person that played it is the worst penalty taker.

If they knew the consequences, why did they leave? That's exactly what gave me headache which I am still nursing.

Senegal coach has been sanctions while Senegal world cup is being discussed by Fifa

Ever heard of the word "emotions"?......their decision was emotionally driven and nothing more.

Even me that I am not a footballer knew the consequences of leaving the field could be huge.

Their coach was wrong to have told his players to leave the stadium

Yes he was wrong....but that's what letting one's emotions get the best of them can do.

I am just hoping FIFA would be lenient on them because that offense is huge in Football.

The coach will bear much of the burden/punishment directly while their FA too might face fine or something similar..... nothing terrible will be done to them.

FIFA is reasoning like 10 players who left for the tunnel and return.

They are considering suspension in both club and world cup. I am just hoping it won't take effect

They'll hardly touch the players..... similar thing happened during a certain women's world cup match with Cameroon and England I didn't follow up to know how it ended though......but I didn't see any news of the players involved been suspended though.

And in this case the coach instigated them to do it....so he will take most of the blames and punishment I think.

Diaz probably deliberately missed that penalty just to make the game to continue

They almost abandoned the game with that late penalty which shouldn't have been given because if it was Senegal that had such foul at that last mins, the referee would have over looked

At least , I was glad the Senegalese returned to complete the match cos they would have been heavily fined and sanctions for abandoning the game
Aswani, I saw your comments and others tagging me about the missed penalty by Diaz. I was actually too weak yesterday. Spent almost all the day on bed.

What do you have to say about the attached photo below where Mendy wasn't on the line before Diaz kicked the penalty

Baba, I am not sure if I tagged you but I have to disagree with you and the other conspiracy theorists on this one.

Diaz wanted to do a Panenka that went wrong. Look at his shell shocked face after the penalty and when he was being taken off.

What that picture actually tells me is that no matter what Mendy had done and as far off the line he was, there was not a hope in hell the ref would order a retake after a save. He knew that as did the whole world, not after all that had happened before, and he took full advantage.

Hope you are feeling much better sha, I wish you speedy recovery.

Is goal Keeper out of the line allowed in football? I attached the picture of when Diaz took the penalty, you can the position of Mendy at the goal post, outside the line.

It wasn't Diaz that supposed to take the penalty self, someone left it for him. I watched what transpired keenly. Check the attached photo very well, The ball was yet to Get to Mendy but he was already far out of his line

Getting better jare, I really don't know the psychology behind that Final that made me to be affected somehow

You didn't take into account what I said sha. Mendy knew he could do anything he wanted, the ref was never going to penalise him.

I am not sure if you watch American football, there is a concept of a free play. At the line of scrimmage, one or more defender jumps before the ball is snapped, even though a towel is thrown, the whistle is not blown after the ball is snapped. The QB knows for a fact that there is a penalty in the bank waiting so he can take the chance to throw the ball even in double or treble coverage at risk of interception.

Similar in cricket with a no ball that the batsman can still go after.

This penalty, admittedly different circumstances somewhat, is in essence, the same. Mendy knows whatever Infraction he commits is going to be allowed because of the hoo haa from previously.

This is my opinion sha, I of course respect yours though I don't think it is right. I do see why people might think so but I am not on board with conspiracy theories on this one.

I just checked the picture you attached again. The ball had been kicked as it is even nearer Mendy than Diaz, did you mean to put a different picture?

Who plays panenka at such moment? Infact na terrible shot with nice angle a player will aim at such crucial time.

I am happy Senegal won that match not only they are best but also a karma for what Moroccan has been due upto that final pure cheating.

Also go and rematch must panenka goalkeepers savings, most time they were already on ground or near it before the safe, not still standing tall and catch the ball like say na small pikin lol.
lols, which of them, give me examples of such save

Oga nothing deliberate here

Oga, go and Google Panenka (I think he was Czechcoslovakian in the European championsips) and watch the player that the penalty was named after on YouTube.

The original Panenka by Panenka was played in that kind of circumstance, where you need nerves of steel and you cool finish it off.
