In the middle of September or so this forum was inundated with 'hailing' over the improved and 'stable' power supply. And we said then that two factors contributed to that. Peak hydro generation. Lower overall power consumption due to cooler weather and the frequent system wide rain induced equipment failure. What we want to see is SUSTAINABLE electricity generation and distribution before growing flowers of praise Speak to China. They are closing down solar PV plants due to over capacity and consequent price depressions. Can't we sequester one of those plants, produce enough panels to generate green energy from the abundant sun we have at this time of the year to meet peak season? |

Burob:How does that absolve the government of incompetence? That is how you people keep evading the problem and wonder why the country is stagnated. What did Tinubu promise regarding electricity? That if he doesn't give us steady power supply, he shouldn't be voted for again. The people truly deserve their government. People are now accustomed to bad governance that they absolve leaders of their responsibilities. Pity.

| Re: The National Grid Has Collapsed Again by bentenny(m): 3:16am On Jan 24 |
In a sane country,a second collapse of the national grid would have prompted the FG to give the minister two choices: resign or get sacked with immediate effect! However,in this part of the world mediocrity and impunity is a norm! Interestingly, the same minister wants to be governor of his state! The worst part is that some ignorant citizens from that state will gather to vote for him based on 'emilokan' tag! |
