What happened to Stationery Stores since the incident, 31 years ago? Where is the club now?

Do you think that Finidi George knows something about the unfortunate incident that you don’t know, seeing as he has failed to pursue justice for his brother and family all these years huh
Pursue justice for his brother?
No one was even arrested! How do you pursue justice when the state that should help you do so, has failed abysmally to render basic help? People of ibadan saw the person who fired the shot but none was arrested or even identified.
Go and watch Finidis interviews about that.. Arise Tv

If not for OP who mentioned some names I can't even mention one name of a player in the NPFL.

The league management company isn't doing enough to promote the league.

Most importantly, this "home must win" syndrome should stop......It's discouraging Nigerians from watching.

Bendel insurance have won their last three away matches.
Agreed ,the league management should do more to promote the Nigerian league.
Nigerian politicians have taken over all sectors in Nigeria including football and its difficult to develop with those people in charge.

I’m pleasantly surprised that this thread about two old time rivals in our national league made it to the front page of the foremost Nigerian forum.

Do you think this will be a regular thing? Or it’s just a flash in the pan huh

Meanwhile, I support Oluyole Warriors to win this game in Ibadan tomorrow, after their disappointing 0-2 loss to Bayelsa away last week.
I think it will be a regular thing from now.
99% of us can't name at least 5 NPFL clubs without consulting Google but we can name those in the EPL and even those in lower divisions in England.
I think this is a step in the right direction. We have to hype our own.

@Seun Nigerian league should always make front page as we are in Nigeria.
The prioritisation of the English league on nairaland won't develop our grassroot football.
There are alot of talented footballers in the Nigerian league and we can use nairaland to showcase them to the world 🌎.
Wilson Oruma,Pius Ikhedia and Julius Aghahowa all started from Bendel insurance fc and I watched them when they were playing in the local scene.
Presently,Emmanuel Akpan, kayode oke ,Henry onyia etc are presently doing very well for the Adaa Bendel boys of Benin.

It will be better you start your own clubside as the state Government won't sell to you as they use them for image laundering.
Do states with privately owned football clubs not use them for image laundering as well?

Is the image of Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, London, Paris, Munich, Barcelona etc not laundered by the privately owned clubs based there?

Is it not shortsightedness that makes us allow our local, state and federal governments to be involved in businesses, instead of being focused on regulating them, while generating revenue from them in different ways rather than giving them subsidies and allocations from insufficient funds huh

Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;

or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

@anonimi I get your point ,the truth is that most Nigerian clubs owned by state Government are not professionally run as they don't see it as a business.
The state Government use these clubs to project their image.
Remo stars which is a private clubside in Nigeria is being run professionally and they are reaping the benefit selling their players abroad for millions of dollars.
