The Federal Ministry of Works and MTN Nigeria have agreed on a May 10, 2026, deadline for the completion of the Enugu-Onitsha dual-carriageway project, funded by MTN under the Tax Credit Scheme. This is just as the Minister of Works, David Umahi, called on cement manufacturers to reduce the price of cement to N7,000.

In a statement, the Special Adviser on Media to the Honourable Minister of Works, Orji Uchenna Orji, quoted Umahi as emphasising the need for quality and speedy delivery of the project.

It is just like roads FG built using Dangote etc.
Instead of paying certain amount of tax,they build already agreed roads in exchange.
It is a Tax Credit Scheme agreement that makes a firm spend less money than the tax it would have paid.
Dangote,MTN etc are not father christmas but building the roads 'at the mercy' of the FG.

President Bola Tinubu’s administration is executing several major road infrastructure projects in South East Igboland.

Key projects, often utilizing concrete pavement, include the Enugu–Onitsha Road, 2nd Niger Bridge access roads, and Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway.

Enugu–Onitsha Road (107 km): Funded partly via the MTN Tax Credit scheme.

Enugu–Onitsha Road (72 km): Reconstruction by CBC.

2nd Niger Bridge Access Road (17.5 km): Dualization and construction.

Enugu–Abakaliki Road (36 km): Ongoing construction.

Lokpanta–Enugu Road (61 km): Dualization.

Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway: Major rehabilitation sections.

Enugu Bridge at Artisan Market: Completed reconstruction.

Akpoha Bridge, Ebonyi State: Completed construction.

Aba-Owerri Road (NNPC Depot Expressway), Abia State: Rehabilitation.

Umuahia to Aba Road: Construction project.

Angingali-Udobi-Udona-Umo-Uwana-Ubalaka Road, Imo State: Construction.

These projects are part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the Federal Ministry of Works, led by David Umahi.

Tinubu’s urch!ns are celebrating over the construction of a few kilometers of the Enugu/Onitsha road which spans over 100 kilometers.
One of the urch!ns is even saying that the deadline for the completion is May this year and i ask what happens to the uncompleted portions of the road?
These empty heads should be ashamed of posting some things online.

See ipob way of thinking in ignorance. Is it not your tax money that Tinubu waived for MTN to carry out the road construction just like Dangote and some other companies are doing? What good things has MTN benefited that will warrant spending such money despite ipob/ESN harassment in the past

Why did you bring PDP into it please? What happened to the eight years misgovernance and embezzlement years of APC under Buhari? So now you want to pretend that Buhari’s government did not say the same story about that road? Some of you APC supporters seem to be so bewitched, that you no longer know your left from your right. Una no kuku get small ssshammee. I am very certain that you are not from the SE and so have no information about events on that road, except what you see on social media spaces.

What’s special about building with concrete? If you are asked which government originally built that road and how long it lasted before getting damaged, you can never have the idea.

By the way, is it not the responsibility of government to provide such infrastructure, irrespective of party affiliation? If they say “government is a continuum”, is it not responsibility the government in power to carry out such assignments?

Who initiated Lagos-Ibadan expressway that Buhari completed 98%?
