Govt device a means to ensure no one is denied access to University education by granting loan to students, I don't see why such a step should not be applauded but some people because of their hatred for the person in power are not happy with such news. Normally, a guideline must be provided on how to repay such loans and I'm pretty sure the loan will be repayable once you start employment and not when you're still an undergraduate. Let's stop misinforming the public please.

The ones that are earning legitimately on their own or the ones that have secured a job should start making loan repayment so others coming into institutions can benefit from the scheme as well. It’s not as if they will pay it all at once.

I can assure you this story is not all true and caún never be the truth.
What is likely to be is that those who had the funds in their final year 2 years ago who may have been placed in a paid employment now can now initiate mode of refunding the benefit so others can also benefit from the scheme.
But surely Nigerians with defective bad news mentality and fake news mongers will read and run with the news as government is now clamping down on those that are still in need of the funds.

If you don't know, this scheme is so dear to the present government and a lot of votes are expected as direct or indirect effect, they will never ask such now or never. It will simply undo all the electoral gain of the scheme.

Sincerely many dont read. What was published is official guidelines for the repayment of student loans not a request for repayment as the misleading headline stated. The headline is deliberately misleading because the author knows that many will not read the whole writeup before rushing to comment.

Of course any university has the right to release relevant information regarding disbursement and repayment of the loan. Nothing on the write-up shows that the Government is demanding for immediate repayment.
This story is written as a face saving shit because we are close to the elections and they know that the student loan initiative is a powerful selling point for the Government coupled with the successful ASUU agreement.
Have you seen anywhere on that news where demand was made for repayment? Sensitization and information about how to apply and repay the student loan aren't same with demand for immediate repayment.
Please watch out for more fake news from these failures from now on. Count yourself worthy if obedients hates you because whosoever they hate always succeed.
