The Menace Of Street Begging In Kano

Bashir Ahmad
To significantly reduce begging on the streets of Kano and parts of the North, there must be a deliberate and strong political will. The authorities cannot continue to abandon vulnerable people to their fate nor leave children entirely in the care of parents and guardians who are unable or unwilling to protect their welfare.

People don't really understand the consequences of corruption. For instance, imagine every citizen been paid monthly stipend from our oil proceeds. I hope we'll get it right one day

Since I moved to the north, I can categorically claim that what most of the media is saying about the north is false!! I still never see the level of begging I am used to seeing in Lagos and not even close!!! Yes kano has to adjust in a lot of things, but the media should keep away from being stereotypical cus this is 2026

Say no more. All Southerners who eventually move to the North barely want to leave afterwards. Life is better in the North, forget all the stereotypes. It takes one who has lived in both regions to arrive at this conclusion. Who no go, no go know.

@topic, it's very suspicious that a documentary on begging in Kano has quickly been put together shortly after international livestreamer, ishowspeed, exposed Lagos for being the begging capital of the world. Smells like APC handiwork to me.

The world Headquarters of Street Begging is in Kano.
Kano is harbouring a serious potential threat if this menace of street begging is not checkmate.
If care is not taken some of these beggars will definitely metamephose into potential terrorist.
Kano is supposed to take a decisive action against this menace.

Is that how every Briton is paid a monthly stipend from their oil proceeds instead of being educated free in government primary, vocational and secondary schools with adequate professional teachers who are well paid.

How many of your people that japa'd to Britain gave you this information huh

Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;

or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

The almagiri's of yesterday in the northern Nigeria has metamephose to the present day lakurawa, boko haram bandits etc. Failure to curtail this menace is a future threat to the region and the country at large

So APC is now failing at all levels, federal and state?
Re: The Menace Of Street Begging In Kano (Video) by Obaofaba: 6:48am On Jan 25
Street begging is not limited to the North, it's a national issue and the government needs to do something about it urgently.

They are busy with red cap Kwankasiya or Oshiomole's Assembly of Past Criminals, APC for 2027 confusion to bother with free education for all their children.

Kwankwaso should send all his Kano almajiris across the border to Niger Republic to attend his bilingual schools of misplaced priorities.

Kwankwaso to build another bilingual college in Niger Republic
Thu, 20 Feb 2014

He said the establishment of the bilingual college was aimed at enhancing relationship among the female students of the two countries.
A statement signed by the governor’s spokesman, Alhaji Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, indicated that the governor made the promise when he paid a courtesy visit to President Muhammadou Youssoufou of Niger Republic in Niamey.

Kwankwaso, the statement added, told the president that he was in Niger Republic for an inspection visit to the Kano-Niger Bilingual College.
“Like the male bilingual college in Niamey, the proposed female college when established will provide opportunity for our young girls to learn French and interact with their Nigerien counterparts, ” he said.

Governor Kwankwaso inspected the dormitories, clinic, classes and staff quarters at the first Kano-Niger College in Niamey, which was constructed at the cost of N225, 937,910.

I have always wondered if the requirements to give arms translates to the need for some to think they have to be at the receiving end of arms,

You could have checked Qatar, UAE, Kuwait. Also, are you aware that every new birth Briton gets weekly pay by their government till age 16?

They are a problem to Nigeria as they always vote rubbish people into power who will continue to keep them in poverty which affects reasonable citizens in other places.
They are supposed to have their own country with their poverty mentality

What is the source of your claim?

Do children in Britain, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait get free and compulsory education to produce a diversely educated workforce that generates revenue beyond oil?

Should you not focus on that instead of your phantom claim of free oil money shared to people who don't want to be educated in order to be workers and entrepreneurs later in life huh

Begging starts from spiritual corruption. They have corrupted the mind of the people so much with false religion that people do not aspire to a glorious prosperous future. Only truth sets a man free

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.

Leave them alone, they'll still stand on his mandate or anybody their religious leader throws at them.

Anybody that votes out of sentiments deserves the kind of leader they get.
