You do not have to be a politician to express your opinion.

You must appreciate that irrespective of ones contribution to the emergence of another as Governor or any elective position, the ultimate loyalty of the elected is to the constituents, not to the individual. A Governor should never be a puppet or micromanaged by anyone, not even the President. He must be independent at all times and accountable to the state. Politically, he is morally bound to carry those who helped him win elections along in the running of the government provided that their requests wouldn't be detrimental to the interests of the state/people.

There is a difference between a mentor and a puppeteer. Godfatherism is repacked puppeteering, it should never be encouraged

oga I'm not a politician but what I know is dat the person who put u there as governor worked so hard to do that ....u have to be loyal to him and his political ambitious. ..what happens in Kano is a total betrayal of trust.. .the same in the case of wike..... monkey dey work banboon dey chop.... meaning the former governors have worked to build their structure but tinubu is benefiting it ....the only hope those governors aligning with tinubu have and reason for their defection is to rig their way into second term by using the federal might otherwise I don't see how strong their capacity are in their respective state.

Lol. But Osinbajo cannot even dare vie for the position of president without being called a betrayer. Aregbesola can also be tagged a betrayer by you folks for pitching his tents elsewhere. Even Seyi Makinde has started to be called one due to his ambitions to contest an election under his party, PDP. Is it only betrayal when it's Tinubu at the receiving end? Kano was an APC state in 2023, did Tinubu win the state? If you believe that Abba can deliver Kano to Tinubu with Kwankwaso openly campaigning against Tinubu, then I have a very potent snake oil to sell to you.

The new slogan in Kano is,

Abba na Tinubu
Kano ta Kwankwasiyya
What was the result of the 2023 election in Kano? Yes Kwankwaso won but Tinubu got well over one million votes. Now that nearly all the political actors are in APC will he fare better or not. Not saying that if Kwankwaso is on the presidential ballot Tinubu will defeat him in Kano but it won’t be a walk over. This is not a show of support to anyone but stating the obvious.

Lol. Tinubu got well over one million votes in Kano in 2023? Kindly check again. Northerners voted Tinubu in 2023, even though Agbadorians later turned around to ethnicise his presidency and claimed the North didn't vote for him while betraying many who made that possible. It remains to be seen whether he can replicate his 2023 numbers.

Is politics actually a stable or predictable business in Nigeria?
Someone once said, " politicians suffer memory loss, once elected into office". Get that and stay sane.

The point is that no public servant should be a puppet. Your protégé must be allowed to exercise his responsibility. Their loyalty is not meant to be "who put them" but to who they serve.

So why was Tinubu chasing him all over the place for months and even sacked Ganduje as chairman of APC to pave way for his defection? Kwankwaso turned his back on the deal because America has allegedly instructed Tinubu to balance his ticket with a christian. Otherwise, Tinubu was willing to drop Shettima for Kwankwaso.
Did Tinubu win kano state to emerge president for the first time, he won wen he was not the president, won against all odds, make kwankwaso go rest, he's of no important, he is just pained

You are probably guilty of same. The barcanista moniker is male because it's verified outside NL. But your alternative monikers may not be.
I'm sick and tired of all of you harassing me on this forum on account of my gender.
Maybe I'm the only visible female poster here, but I'll like to think there are other ladies here masquerading as men because they fear the usual bad mouth and backlash from NL men.

Go to the Romans section and see for yourself. They have succeeded in making jeon identify as male!
The anti female solidarity there is sickening! It led me to conclude that most there were just small street boys who have no experience yet about life.

I can't hide under a male gender to ward off harassments from you guys, if you come for me, I will pay back in kind!

Troll me and I will roast you. DCMA and numerous others here tried trolling me, I took the fight to their doorsteps!

You guys should leave my gender identity alone puleeeese!

Betrayal is part of Nigeria politics and it's one of the Foundations, Governor Otti is part of APC in the past, Obi is once in Apga, Atiku is part of PDP so the political Ideology of Nigeria politicians cannot be defined, the crying Daddy Kwakwaso is part of PDP before they all betray Jonathan.

TonyeBarcanista:
I have read some publications in which Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso lamented the decision of Governor Abba Yusuf to abandon the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly describing it as a “betrayal.” What an irony.
Firstly, Kano’s political history shows a consistent pattern of fallout between godfathers and their governors. In 1979, Aminu Kano helped Abubakar Rimi win the governorship, only for Rimi to later part ways with him.
In 1998, Musa Gwadabe helped Rabiu Kwankwaso clinch the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and win the governorship in Kano. Kwankwaso, however, soon parted ways with him. The same Kwankwaso!
Kwankwaso was also instrumental in Dr. Umar Ganduje’s emergence as Governor in 2015, yet Ganduje eventually broke away from him. Similarly, Kwankwaso played a key role in the election of the incumbent Governor, Abba Yusuf, in 2023, and they have now parted ways as well.
Given this history, how does Kwankwaso expect an incumbent governor to remain under his control when he himself was never under the control of Musa Gwadabe? How can he expect Governor Yusuf to remain perpetually beholden when every governor in Kano, including Kwankwaso himself, has asserted independence from their “helpers”?
Why, then, is Kwankwaso complaining that Governor Yusuf has abandoned the NNPP for the APC, when he himself left the PDP, on whose platform he won the governorship in 2011, for the APC in 2014 without vacating his office? Likewise, he later abandoned the APC, on whose platform he was elected Senator in 2015, for the PDP in 2018, again without vacating his seat.
I am neither in support of nor opposed to Governor Yusuf’s decision, nor am I against Kwankwaso. My point is simple: Kwankwaso should be prepared to swallow the same pills he once administered to Musa Gwadabe and the PDP.
'Tonye Barcanista
The fact is that Kwankwaso never saw this coming because Governor Yusuf is married to his daughter and he felt he could not be married to his daughter and still stab him in the back.
