What many people don't know is that come 2027 ethnic politics will be at play in Kano. Governor Abba Yusuf is of Kanuri origin and Kanuris have a huge presence in Kano state. Kwankwaso is a fulani man and Fulanis in Kano are not that many. Kwankwaso has been relying on Kanuris to keep his Kwankwassiyya movement going but now that there is a split, Kanuris with Hausas will pitch their tent with Abba.

Are you even aware that Gov Yusuf was a member of APC in 2014, he won APC senatorial ticket of Kano Central but had to step down and give the ticket to Kwankwaso to become Senator in 2015?. So where's the betrayal coming from?
