Not actually “formal”.. it’s native spelling.

Türkiye = Turkish spelling & pronunciation while Turkey = English spelling & pronunciation… From my years in Turkey, their people pronounce their country name as Türkiye.

Just like Germany/Deutschland, Holland/Netherlands, etc.

Please explain to me, if Tŭrkiye became Turkey (understandable), how on earth did Deutshland become Germany!

Lol.. Türkiye didn’t become Turkey or same with Germany, or Netherlands, etc. it’s their English and native names.

I'm sure even you don't understand. It is understandable the English write Tůrkiya as Turkey. But that one about Germany. It is like saying you write "Yoruba" as Stanilasus!
