Izzou see the people Soludo locked their market yesterday, they are carrying out Pro-Nnamdi Kanu protests in the market today

Whats the assurance these guys won't attack anybody that wants to flout the Monday sit-at-home order?
From fear, it progressed to a habit.

You can clearly hear the governor say the market in Awka is open. Places like Abakaliki and even parts of Enugu open on Mondays

Na only them like Kanu pass?

When Kanu was sentenced, why didn't they shut down their shops indefinitely?

It's just a habit that they have gotten used to. Let's see how it turns out next Monday

Tinubu done collapse for Turkiye

This man has been shaking like Parkinsons patient since before elections. Main reason I would guess for him being outside the country so often (receiving treatment)

If he sha make it to 2027 election with no visible signs of cognitive decline, I would be surprised

ISWAP suffers heavy losses in Timbuktu Triangle, lost 22 fighters in encounter with troops

By: Zagazola Makama

At least 22 fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have been killed, while several others were wounded, during recent clashes with Nigerian troops in the Timbuktu Triangle area of Borno State, security sources confirm.

The sources told Zagazola Makama that the encounters occurred during sustained operations by troops of the Nigerian Army’s Special forces in the notorious Timbuktu Triangle axis.

According to the sources, those killed included a senior commander (Qaid) and two unit leaders (Munzirs), while many others escaped with injuries.

“ISWAP suffered significant casualties during the fighting. A Qaid and two Munzirs were among those neutralised, with several other fighters wounded,” the sources said, adding that efforts were ongoing to confirm the identities of the senior commanders killed in the operation.

They further disclosed that surviving ISWAP elements were believed to be regrouping around forested areas near Bulabulin, about 18 to 20 kilometres west of Damboa, and around Korengelen, south-east of Azir.

Security officials said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations had been intensified over the identified locations and surrounding forests to detect and interdict fleeing terrorists.

“The military is sustaining pressure on the remnants of the group through aggressive clearance operations and aerial surveillance,” the sources said.

They added that troops remained resolute in degrading ISWAP’s operational capability in the North-East and restoring lasting peace to affected communities.

I'm more than shocked, I thought the average igbo business man loves his shop like a second bride.

There is no way Onitcha main market won't be secure for trading, be it on Monday or on Wednesday.....most of those thugs formenting trouble have been killed or arrested, so why promote such inactivity.

There is and have never been any basis for this useless sit at home.

Soludo should hold his nerve, if on Monday they refuse to come out, lock the market further .......he has secured his second term mandate already.
People who love foolishness must get sense by force.

Though I am not based in the SE, There is one thing anyone including SE businessmen like more than shop and its their lives. People have been killed in the past in open daylight for violating this sit at home

It will take time for the damage done and the fear to go just like that, Its easy for Soludo to make pronouncements like that because he has armed guard 24-7, Who does Emeka and Obinna have to protect them if those thugs attack them?

There are many of those traders who do not support the sit at home but they fear for their lives. Its the same modus of terror organizations, Many people do not support BokoHaram, Hamas, Sinaloa Cartel, ISIS Alqaeda but they obey due to fear

That is why regaining confidence and healing is slow and lenghty, No be by force or gragra of come to shop or be shut down

Person wey mad man kill his family before will see mechanic and apply caution

It is true but government has shown goodwill, you would agree that Onitcha main market and surrounding areas are safe.

Something has to be done about this sit at home situation, several times subtle approaches has been attempted and they all failed........I think he has decided to take the hard approach.

If civil servants can go to work unmolested every Mondays why can't traders go to their shops.
The optics from the traders is concerning, many show tactic approval for this sit at home in solidarity with their Messiah "Kanu".

Maybe force will be enough to shift the needle.

It's obvious now that Nnamdi Kanu is not responsible for the Monday sit at home in the SE.

It has become a habit. Years upon years have gone by, and suddenly, it sounds like a doctrine

Let's wait for next Monday and see if the protesters have the balls to keep their word.

Shittu has already goofed by telling Oyo people that he would introduce Sharia.

All those reasons of "It doesn't affect you as a Christian" will disappear when that time comes.

To the Christians there, if you like, go and vote him in the name of Competence and all that shit they coat their intentions with.

So MNK is enforcing the sit at home?

You're just being blinded by sentiments

There are many SE states or cities moving freely on Mondays and some people especially private business men chose to sit at home.

The northerners fleeing to the south are influencing and entrenching religious conservatism. That is likely where this is coming from. Esp in Oyo a very politically active state where elections can be won on razor thin margins. I think it is a conscious and deliberate gamble

I don't thibk it has anything to do with northerners influence in the southwesg jàre.

Right from time there has always been some extremist Muslims in the south west ; although they are in the minority. If you listen to Koko inú ìwé ìròyìn often, you will hear them refer to such people as "alakatakiti ẹsin".

I think it's just those guys getting bold and having more of them getting political posts. Shebi this shittu was a minister under Buhari or so.

I've known that MURIC guy (Ishaq Oloyede) for over 20 years and he's always been like that. He used to come on a Muslim program on MITV every Sunday morning and he's always been an extremist in his views and opinions. He's always ready to cause division with his agitation and raising issues where there's none. I won't say it's the influence of northerners in the south west that caused it. There are many of those guys in places like Ogbomosho, Osogbo, Lagos Island, etc.
