We were naive for years about technological dependence.

We didn’t know.

Over 90% of batteries and critical raw materials come from one supplier.

⚡EU’s Kaja Kallas:

Europe can be slow. Unanimity means we cannot always act at the speed of relevance.

Of course, there are policy differences among member states. This is all natural.

But unanimity is also used by some as a bargaining tool, and it cannot be that one country’s veto defines the policy for others.

⚡EU’s Kaja Kallas:

Europe is no longer Washington’s primary center of gravity. The shift has been ongoing for a while. It is structural, not temporary.

No great power in history has ever outsourced its survival and survived.

The risk of a return to coercive power politics and a world where might makes right is very real.

Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney hit the nail on its head in his own speech in Davos: it's time also for Europe to take down its sign.

We are now dangerously close to the third bell.

NATO needs to become more European to maintain its strength.

And for that, Europe must act.

We must be able to win the fight tonight and be ready tomorrow.

What geopolitical role do we want Europe to play?

Could we establish EU military capabilities financed and owned by the member states?

⚡Saudi Arabia Looks to Its Richest Families for Fresh Cash.

Saudi Arabia is turning to its wealthiest families to help fund the next phase of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s economic overhaul as pressure grows on public finances.

The Public Investment Fund has met with prominent families to gauge interest in investing alongside the state, while government agencies are increasing outreach to family offices and local businesses.

With oil revenues weaker and banks tightening lending, Riyadh is seeking alternative sources of capital. Family-owned firms — which dominate the private sector — are being encouraged to invest in areas such as private credit, technology, mining and real estate, and to partner with global investors.

Officials hope this will unlock hundreds of billions of dollars in domestic wealth to support Vision 2030 projects.

Saudi Arabia is BROKE.

We're not talking about this enough.

The European Union dumped trade with the U.S to seal a trade deal with ordinary India.

⚡Yesterday afternoon, approximately 3 Russian Geran-2 drones struck a train in Barvinkove, Kharkiv Oblast.

The locomotive was seemingly being used by both military personnel and civilians, as evidenced by the videos published. Barvinkove currently hosts the closest operational railway station to the Donbas, and is around 42 km from the frontline.

⚡US intelligence doubts that Venezuela will sever ties with Russia and China, reports Reuters.

According to the agency's sources, it's unclear from the reports of American intelligence services whether President Delcy Rodríguez fully supports the US strategy in her country".

Before this, US officials publicly stated that they want the interim president to sever relations with close allies such as Iran, China, and Russia, including by expelling their diplomats and advisers from Venezuela report journalists, citing several sources.

⚡Trump:

A massive Armada is heading to Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose.

It is a larger fleet, headed by the great Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, than that sent to Venezuela. Like with Venezuela, it is, ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary.

Hopefully Iran will quickly “Come to the Table” and negotiate a fair and equitable deal - NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS - one that is good for all parties. Time is running out, it is truly of the essence!

As I told Iran once before, MAKE A DEAL! They didn’t, and there was “Operation Midnight Hammer,” a major destruction of Iran.

The next attack will be far worse! Don’t make that happen again.

⚡NATO Secretary General clashed with EU leaders over support for the US and Trump — Politico

Rutte faced harsh criticism from European politicians over his statements about Europe's dependence on the USA.

The reason was Rutte's speech in the European Parliament, where he said: "If someone thinks that Europe can protect itself without the USA, keep dreaming."

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot replied that Europe "can and should be responsible for its own security." European Parliament member Nathalie Loiseau called Rutte's words "shameful" and stated that NATO "doesn't need a Trump fanatic." Spanish MP Nacho Sánchez Amor asked whether Rutte represented NATO or the USA.

European diplomats admit that Rutte helped reduce tensions over Greenland, but at the same time, he jeopardized long-term trust within the alliance. One diplomat stated that the crisis over Greenland "caused serious damage," and Rutte's approach "alienated allies."

We are an alliance of 32 countries, not a 'USA plus 31' club," emphasized a source of the publication.

don't know if i'll use the word broke for them

they have some $1.5T squared away
a lot of money for a population of 40m where citizens are around 25m

the issue for sa
is that mbs has a grand, ambitious plan
but he does not have the ingredients for the soup

you have a core population of 25m that can't wipe their a$$
you've fluffed them up for decades on oil income
they get paid to eat, sleep, and f*ck

you import a migrant population of 15m to do everything of note

and now at the drop of a hat
you expect this hodgepodge to create magic

the uae found a way
but their tiny population helped

in a world where asia is roaring, europe wants to get serious, and south america isn't slacking
i just don't see the promise for sa
and everyone else sees the same sh*t
so they're not getting the influx of foreign capital that they expected

mbs though has staked his domestic credibility on this grand plan
with a twelve figure price tag

and the alternative is unpalatable
cut the freebies
offer migrants more rights
demand higher productivity from the indigenous population
and even then they'll still have to outcompete the likes of malaysia, spain, morocco, and chile
good luck with that

f*ck your deals that you always unilaterally tear up
launch the attack this weekend

your cho cho cho don too much

as with the houthis
it is clear a gbas gbos is necessary before the loudmouth will accept a viable detente
if iran has not hit a ship or filled body bags or conducted economic warfare by sending oil to $200 he wouldn't rest
he has avoided that so far, so it's time for persia to discipline his errant a$$

by the way
iran already has drones shadowing your armada as it is already along iran's long coastline

give the word
time to put a stop to this amateur sh*t

Mtcheeeew!!!! Oh mother of god!!!! Are you telling me the entire USA will be wiped out by a single strike? Or won't be able to retaliate? If you don't know, you would need almost a thousand different Tsar bomba strikes to wipe out the entire USA. See this drool putting what I didn't say into it. If the Tsar bomba or whatever you call it is your hope, better understand that the weapon is more of a show off than of actual use. Even a country the size of Monaco will not be totally wiped off in a single strike. They won't be able to retaliate and even the effects of radiation will take decades to totally wipe off Monaco (that is assuming there are no gas masks to assist with radioactive fallouts such as gamma rays and protective clothing to assist with the ones that will be absorbed by the body.)
It's no wonder you read and don't understand what you read. I shouldn't be educating an adult on simple sentences for devil's sake!!!

You don't even need to be a nuclear physicist to know things like this. Even the Tsar Bomba has a total blast radius of 22 miles!!!!
🤡; the USA can survive a first nuclear strike.

Me; I showed effects of nuclear winter and asked what kind of survival are we talking about? Also asked what is first strike?

🤡; when I say survival I meant the ability to retaliate and am not talking about devastating effects. ( * survival means retaliation to the 🤡)

Me; I asked so if North America is destroyed in a nuclear strike, the USA can survive if they retaliate with a nuclear submarine 😂?

🤡; his brain overloads, he runs to the creator of all things Ai. Comes back like a headless chicken and starts shouting Tsar bomber, Monaco, do you think the USA can be destroyed.

Me; wetin concern abero and overload , answer the damn question. The 🤡 also thinks the destruction from nuclear weapons is related to the blast radius 👏👏👏. This is good comic relief, now keep moving.

⚡Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister to Tasnim:

There are currently no negotiations with Washington, but messages are being exchanged with.

Even if we sit with Washington for negotiations, this will not reduce our preparedness for any possible war.

Any limited American attack will be met with an appropriate response.

Our priority is not negotiations with Washington, but full readiness to defend our country.

they realize belatedly that even after trump leaves
the us will pursue the same objectives but with different methods

it wasn't trump that blew up nordstream
that is now forcing europe to become dependent on us energy
essentially trading one dependence for another
as well as destroying european global competitiveness
both outcomes that the us has shown remarkable willingness to exploit with or without trump

the understanding is that america is in an existential struggle with other great powers to stave off inevitable decline
and that america has no scruples using its western vassal like it uses ukraine and the kurds to bludgeon its rivals
that scares them to bits
they've always believed they were special

so they're trying to build up strategic independence
so that when the us asks them to jump off a cliff for american interests
as the us tried to do with greenland
they can say f*ck off
