PRESS STATEMENT

ADC Announces Composition of 50-Member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the constitution of its 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee, following the approval of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

The committee was approved by the National Chairman of the ADC, His Excellency, Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, in line with the party’s commitment to building a credible, people-centred, and forward-looking policy framework for national governance.

The Policy and Manifesto Committee brings together a distinguished group of Nigerians drawn from diverse backgrounds, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders, and professionals. Collectively, they represent a wealth of experience in governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform.

The committee will be chaired by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, with Professor Pat Utomi serving as Deputy Chairman, while Salihu Lukman will serve as Secretary.

According to the party, the committee is tasked with articulating a clear, coherent, and credible policy direction that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the ADC as a serious alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal.

The formal inauguration of the committee has been scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat, Abuja.

The African Democratic Congress reaffirms its belief that Nigeria’s challenges require ideas rooted in competence, integrity, and national consensus, and expresses confidence that the committee will deliver a manifesto that speaks to the real needs of Nigerians.
All concerned members and relevant stakeholders are invited to take note.

Signed:

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi
National Publicity Secretary
African Democratic Congress (ADC)

Bolaji Abdullahi @BolajiADC

It is important to point out that not everyone on the ADC Policy and Manifesto Committee is a member of the ADC. Many are not even politicians.

This is because the ADC believes that the task of developing workable public policies for the benefit of all Nigerians should not be left to politicians alone.

During our vetting process, we took all necessary measures to ensure that everyone recommended to serve on this important committee was duly notified and had given their consent.

We hope that Ms. Adamolekun will agree to serve on this committee because of her vast experience — even though she is not a member of our party.

'Yemi @_yemia

Since you want to engage me here without the courtesy of a call to apologise for this gross oversight, I'll respond here.
No, I'm not interested in serving on a Committee where a simple vetting process is complicated & no one is taking responsibility for the error.
Blessings!🌸

Typical Nigerian politics! 50 people!, for what naa?

We too like committees in this country, and at the end of the day, it would be exercise in futility.

Maximum of 12 people are enough to brainstorm on any issue. Once you have large number of people as committee members, it makes every decision difficult to reach.

Election is one year and there is no credible opposition and party to challenge PBAT.

PBAT is the luckiest sitting president, seeking reelection.

If Atiku and Obi and other defectors who have told us several times that Tinubu wasn't prepared to lead Nigeria had good agenda for Nigeria in the first place, would they now just started looking for who will help them come up with sweet promises to use win support?

Yemi Adamolekun, was not personally notified of her appointment? How many others will come out tomorrow to say something similar? ADC should be thorough and transparent in their dealings. This isn’t the time to play or waste precious resources. They should call her to apologize and also publicly. That’s how you build credibility.

What you probably failed to understand is that party manifesto are a combination of several action points and road maps or party agenda... Therefore, 50 people are going to be sub divided into smaller clusters to deal with sectional issues appropriately and critically.

I guess u may not have been a part of such huge task before... I will advice you to register in your neighborhood landlord and tenants association meetings to start with

This is the beginning of confusion.
Only 3 wise men, they almost ran into the hands of king Herod.
50 wise men, I can assure you that 10 or more of them are working for APC.

Walahi u hit the nail on the head here. ADC can’t think of what alternatives to sell to Nigerians, so now they want to force people to help them brainstorm ideas they can use for campaign. Bunch of clowns, I have always known that Pat Utomi is nothing but an empty head.
