Onitsha Main Market Is State Property, Shops Must Open On Mondays - Evarish Ubah by naptu2(op): 5:47am On Jan 29

Anambra State New Media @AnambraNewMedia

“Onitsha Main Market is state property. Those granted shops must open on Mondays or forfeit them. We will not surrender our economy to saboteurs.” - Evarist Ubah, SPAD Markets & Trade |”Voices of Ndi Anambra”|

“The fear excuse is gone. Soludo has secured Anambra. If Onitsha residents can play street football and exercise on fields, and go clubbing on Mondays, then their empty shops are not about fear, it is economic sabotage. We are taking our Mondays back." - Evarist Ubah.

Peter Obi is allergic, unresponsive and nonreactive to the incidences in Anambra and the South East

You could have advised Peter Obi to stop putting mouth in other states affairs.

He should start his charity from Anambra state

Let the state demolish the market and build a befitting brothel for government officials... It'll yield more money for them. Mad people everywhere

i don't understand my people again, i think they said sit at home was voluntary. Why are they afraid? Why are they not voluntarily sitting at home outside the SE?

Alex Otti is doing everything possible to attract investors and empower and support SMEs and another Professor of Economics in Anambra is discouraging investors and forcing more SIT AT HOME days that he claims cost Anambra economy N8B pushing young traders back to the street to start immoral lifestyle again.

This is a man kneeling down for the traders during campaign.......what Enugu did was to keep the market open with enough security for those who want to open to open their shops while forcing the civil servants to resume their duties, things eased off gradually because currently, students in rural areas of Enugu don't go to schools on Monday.

After the APC Digital Summit held in Abuja in the first half of 2025, the number of social media influencers, story spinners and keypad warriors unleashed on the opposition especially on Nairaland on Peter Obi, You would have no doubt that he indeed posseses an asset above election value alone.

If you want to confirm, check the monikers above ; their comments, biases and bile towards an innocent presidential aspirant whose only offence is a presidential ambition and winning Lagos State in the '23 presidential elections.

It's unfortunate that dumb people lead a state like Anambra

Under the State government bye law, market's and motor parks belong to the state government.
So those people saying the Governor have no right to shut down the market, are talking out of ignorance.
The levy's traders pay in the market are remitted to the state government.

Market that you people don't even know how it came into existence.

Trying to use force on the marketer will worsen the security situation in the state. The Governor has to be diplomatic, otherwise this may erode the little achievement recorded in area of security.

People going around with tens of security officers to protect them...

When an average shop owner lost their goods several times to those who declared sit at home... I hope the government will compensate them..

God bless sir. Everybody can not be stupid at the same time. Open your shop on Monday or lose it infact not only lose it, get arrested and detain and never get any shop in tha market forever. Full stop!
Re: Onitsha Main Market Is State Property, Shops Must Open On Mondays - Evarish Ubah by Reference(m): 6:32am On Jan 29
The traders should go to court.
Civil disobedience is their legitimate right.
Yes, you own the market but you don't own the businesses that operate there and if you are concerned about the economy of the state then address the matters that has led to the status quo.

Look at what is happening the US.
They all acknowledge the immigration problem bit the leadership of each state affected by the federal.purge has sided with the people to resist federal.over reach.

Why can't leadership in the south east states lean on the federal government to find a solution to this matter.

You enter into negotiation from a position of strength, what strength does the SE have.
You guys insult the very people you want assistance from, and your leaders that draw close to those you insult are not speared either. Now how do you genuinely think these people would grant your request on something that is not constitutional but rather a prerogative?
Sometimes logic has to prevail and emotions kept aside

What is the primary purpose of the sit-at-home?

As long as other parts of Anambra are not observing it, Main Market traders must open their shops or relocate to States where it is practiced. Guess what? There is none! The economic sabotage must stop.

You are not alone in your observation. The notorious 3rd and 4th monkiers that commented above are two faced figures. They are attacking Obi for not speaking up but forgot that they were the ones who said all manner of things when Obi visited the onitsha drug market last year.

Peter Obi will be very quiet on such matters because he is a fringe fellow who holds no firm position on issues that requires bold statements to be made. Peter Obi prefers to have others make the bold statements while he slides along for obvious reasons. He cannot see that he cannot be trusted by anyone with the exception of the deluded!
