they are always very happy to increase, last stock wont count now everybody quickly increases . . . We produce crude oil , Dangote buys these crude oil in Naira and we are still battling with high price. You see why i said Tinubu is clueless and should not be allowed anywhere near Aso Rock for 2nd term. The man is only after sharing money to anybody that decamps and join APC. . . El-Rufai raised some valid questions some days ago. . . Why is 100 billion disappearing from our account everymonth for the past 15 months. Nobody is taking . Reno Omokri . . . Amabassasor of Nowhere will not talk now ooo |

They exploit Nigerians because the Nigerian government allows it. We have more than 3 refineries and none is working. |
| Re: Fuel Price Increases: How Oil Companies Exploited Nigerians by KomonSense: 2:01pm On Jan 29 |
Dangote is very self-centered and manipulative Tinubu is very culpable too. If the President really wants Nigerian's best interest at heart. . . He has the power to mandate everyone to sell fuel below 500 naira per liter. . . We produce crude oil , Dangote buys these crude oil in Naira and we are still battling with high price. You see why i said Tinubu is clueless and cannot perform ? |

All these stories wey no dey change anything. Prices will go up and they will come down. Nigerians will accept whatever marketers say. |

When the price drops, it will take them 2weeks or more to implement the new price. dre11: |
| Re: Fuel Price Increases: How Oil Companies Exploited Nigerians by bigdammyj: 2:08pm On Jan 29 |
Noted. Nigerians are now battling with disproportionate increases in petrol prices at the petrol stations as marketers push retail prices far above rate of increase in crude oil prices. |
| Re: Fuel Price Increases: How Oil Companies Exploited Nigerians by bestman09(m): 2:13pm On Jan 29 |
Crude oil price is just an excuse. I want to believe that Dangote is still trying to monopolize the market. As soon as importers bring their petrol, Dangote will crash prices and force them to sell at a loss and when he notice that their stock is finished, he will raise the price to recoup profits. The only motive is run them out of business for selfish purpose! |

saintopus:It has not always been like this. When A-looter Propaganda Conmen, APC were looking for power, there were no oil marketers then. We only had PDP that was lambasted for all the woes. Do you know how much we are being forced to pay as subsidies to Tinubu and APC for the massive corruption in their oil sector ![]() anonimi: |

dre11:This is what real deregulation is all about. It's the duty of these media outlets such as Vanguard to educate their readers that fuel pump prices are NOT static due to fluctuations in global oil prices and exchange rates. You simply go to where you can get it cheaper and use mixed energy sources for fueling from PMS, CNG, LPG, electric vehicles (EVs). Period. |
| Re: Fuel Price Increases: How Oil Companies Exploited Nigerians by Reference(m): 2:33pm On Jan 29 |
It is called inflation my dear Nigerians. The cost of living or doing business does not involve only food or transport or housing for an individual, neither does it involve only raw materials or stock or storage or warehousing for a business. If a businessman buys an item at an increase of say 5, percent and his other costs are galloping away at 15 to 20 percent, how can he raise his offerings by only 5 percent. He will find the ratio of the impact of those other costs and factor them in. If the government is not effectively getting a grip on inflation it cannot get this country out of this downward economic spiral. Unfortunately every signature move since 2025 has added fuel to the fire, the latest being the mad revenue drive aka tax grab. Things will only get more and more expensive and less and less people will spend. |
| Re: Fuel Price Increases: How Oil Companies Exploited Nigerians by AKWATGOLD1(m): 2:34pm On Jan 29 |
But if there is drop in the crude oil, the oil marketers find it difficult to reduce the pump price of fuel downward. saintopus: |
| Re: Fuel Price Increases: How Oil Companies Exploited Nigerians by dederocs(m): 2:44pm On Jan 29*. Modified: 3:02pm On Jan 29 |
Dangote must consider Nigerians, disproportionate increases against price of crude oil is foul...they should not always think of profit maximisation, but consider the people and mobilisation of economy via affordable fuel prices. |
| Re: Fuel Price Increases: How Oil Companies Exploited Nigerians by nairalanda1(m): 2:48pm On Jan 29 |
The article is meh. It's infact flawed 1. It says crude oil price rose by x 2. It says then that fuel rose by 2x 3. Has nothing to say about costs of transport, refining, taxes, shipping , etc For the first time in my life on this site, I would like to state fully that the article writer has no effing idea of how the industry works Yeah and fck apc. If you want subsidy back, tell your senator to pass the requisite law. Simple |
