Students: 6,308

1. Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka – ₦85,012,500 for 850 students (2nd batch, 13 Jan 2026)

2. Lagos State University of Science & Technology – ₦223,144,000 for 2,766 students (22 Jan 2026)

Combined impact: 3,616 undergraduates resume lectures and labs without tuition worries this semester.

3. Kashim Ibrahim University, Maiduguri – ₦69,912,300 for 1,322 students (3rd batch, 20 Jan 2026)

4. Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya – ₦31,335,500 for 479 students (13 Jan 2026, 1st batch)

Combined impact: 10,087 undergraduates and student-teachers resume studies free of tuition worries this semester.

1. Federal College of Education, Katsina – ₦4,279,800 for 60 students (Batch SL-21, 14 Jan 2026)

2. Division of Agricultural Colleges, ABU Zaria – ₦2,422,650 for 62 students (5th tranche, 6 Nov 2025)

3. College of Agriculture, Science & Technology, Lafia – ₦9,044,000 for 145 students (1st batch, 15 Jan 2026)

4. Delta State University, Abraka – ₦392,876,550 for 1,854 students (13 Jan 2026)

Combined impact: 2,121 students will resume lectures this semester free of tuition burdens.

So what happened to others that wasn't able to get the loan ?

D same government that gave them loans should be responsible for creating d enabling environment so they could work and repay back those loans.... For Nigeria to work then everybody fit to work must be working.... Kudos to Tinubu’s government on dis

Meaning roughly they have about 50k students
Out of 50k students, only 6k are able to get the loan and that's not even upto 10% and u think the remaining 90% didn't do the right thing.

This rubbish NELFUND is a complete joke. Nigeria doesn't need a loan system to go to school now. Subsidize tertiary education or make it completely free.

I was paying school fees of 50k comfortably without sweat, then u took it to 200k and then give loan to 10% of the students to pay it. The remaining 90% become handicapped and may likely drop out.

What happened in the past when school authorities increased fees arbitrarily, sometimes over 100% without the cushion for students to pay? Perhaps, by your reckoning and your reasoning,. there has never being increases in school fees before.

How did.you arrive at the percentages of the students given and those not given? Perhaps,you harvested the figures from the moon.

How many students have you been in contact with that have dropped out of school in the last two years due to their inability to pay fees?

cry cry baby…….the loan is only available to those that can’t afford to pay their tuition. Or your brain couldn’t process the fact that there are also majority of the student are not poor and can afford the tuition? Have you heard anyone qualified for the loan complain that he/she was not able to get the loan after applying? FG no fit try am, na to reap everybody they are after, I just laughed when I first heard about the disbursement loan to students.
Why would you give students loan to go to school? What happened to free education? What happened to slashing the costs of education in Nigeria?
They know all these things but they don't think about the masses if they won't benefit, funnily the APC obsessed youths are cheering shining teeth like roasted goats.

My friend who got graduated, told me of her hostel mates who seeked the funds but got nothing.
All of dem don already graduate last year. So they have probably forgotten about it.
