C'mon, you can't eat your cake and have it. The first is you some time ago. The second is you recently. The third is the date of the new poster's account opening? What's the difference? Efetobore1980:

So what I'm reading now means no F1 visa would be approved for someone from Nigeria even if one has secured a full scholarship to study for a PhD in the US? Does this mean no F1 visa processing is ongoing in the US embassy and Consulate in Nigeria now? |

Efetobore1980:Let's hope Nigeria will be delisted sooner so we stop being sober.

ObamaMessi:Why not. The US Embassy in Nigeria revenue is shrinking as Nigeria is the cashcow - market is huge for them |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Janet04: 3:21am On Feb 03 |
Poormanpikin:OP, but this is about immigrant visa not non-immigrant like F1. It is for those affected after January 21 the news says... The elites and diplomats are the most affected by that ban, so they will take it more seriously. The one for non-immigrant visa wasn't mentioned. That one started from January 1. Let us just hope they can tackle everything once and for all. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Poormanpikin(m): 11:12pm On Feb 04 |
Janet04:Ma'am, the Nigerian top diplomat won't be seeking an immigrant visa, but rather nonimmigrant visas, since they'll be visiting, and their children will be studying abroad. The Asiwaju government plans to address both migrant and non-immigrant visa issues. Just be calming down. We'd be getting ready for our flight to US next year August. |

Hi guys, I'm trying to pay the SEVIS I-901 Fee. I went to all the banks available to send via western union. They all said they can’t send. If you’ve paid yours, how did you get it done? |

So now when you schedule visa interview appointment, the embassy doesn't send the usual s schedule details to your email again. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Geist(m): 11:23am On Feb 14 |
snoopy:Please how long is the H-1b visa validity after approval? Is there a timeline one must travel and enter the US before it expires? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by snoopy(m): 7:44pm On Feb 14 |
Geist:H-1B is a petition-based visa and typically issued for 6 years maximum with an initial 3 years issued and a further 3-year extension. But for Nigeria, they will only issue you a 90 days, single entry visa just for travel as they had been doing for all visas. At POE, the i-94 and consequent exit date will reflect the duration approved for your petition. |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by Geist(m): 7:57pm On Feb 14 |
snoopy:So this means every time you travel back. Say to visit. You have to reapply for another 90days? |
| Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by snoopy(m): 10:18pm On Feb 15 |
Geist:Exactly. You have to reapply to travel back within another 90 days of the visa being issued. It's kind of the same situation with the student's visa before it was restricted. |
