Onuchijioke:From my observations, the interview is not that tough to accommodate, the most important thing is that you have left the preliminary stage which is the most difficult part of this visa route. I stand to be corrected anyway. Congratulations to all those who have passed through the preliminary stage and also obtained their visas We the August Applicants are still expecting to hear from them on the waiting list |

Hi everyone, I wanted to share an update regarding my application, which was rejected for two main reasons. First, there is a discrepancy between the date of birth on my WAEC certificate and my other documents. I had submitted both an affidavit and a sworn declaration of age to address this. Their position is that I started school too early. I have already sent an email explaining that I come from a teaching household and that I did, in fact, start and complete school quite early. Unfortunately, WAEC no longer corrects dates of birth, so there is nothing further I can do on that end. Second, they stated that my original MBA certificate was manipulated. I have responded to this and provided them with the official email contact of Ahmadu Bello University so they can verify the certificate directly with the school. I believe this verification should have been done before making such an allegation. My biggest concern right now is that my original MBA certificate was not returned. It is the only document that was not given back to me. I have written to ask why this was withheld and whether it was intentional. I am really hoping it has not been misplaced. |

Hello everyone, I joined the waiting list in July and I have been booked for my interview in the 2nd week of February. Please I have some questions for those who have gone for their interviews. 1. How did you book your flight reservation for visa (interview) purpose. I am worried that if I make payment for a flight now and the embassy delays, that would mean that I lose my money. So, are there websites where one can make flight reservation without making payment. 2. Did you book a round trip? If yes, when was your return scheduled for? Is it for like 3months or more? |

Talk2Bella:Hardly visa are rejected at German embassy, I am really to hear this, it's very painful and not easy after waiting for this long, went for an interview with expenses and end up rejected. Please, I will advise you also contact your school for the originality of your MBA certificate while you find away to obtain the certificate from the German embassy. The offense placed on you is a criminal offense which may affect you in all Schengen countries. Please do well to clarify things before looking for alternative. My worry is the more money you're going to put into to clarify your name |

Missmarola:Wait! Flight ticket is part of the requirements before going for the interview? |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Missmarola: 8:40pm On Jan 29 |
Sorry about the confusion, I mistakenly checked the requirements for another visa category instead of opportunity card. However, I have some questions I would like to ask about documents that was submitted physically during the interview 1. For those who used the B part what documents did you take along if the birth was not registered before the age of 18. Did you use local birth extract or just affidavit? 2. For people whose parents don't have Drivers license or passport what signed identity card was submitted at the time of interview?

| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Talk2Bella(f): 8:43pm On Jan 29 |
Singlefile:I have already reached out directly to the school, and they have confirmed that there is nothing wrong with my certificate. They also advised that the embassy contact them directly for verification. In my response, I included the official email addresses of the school to facilitate this process. I am unsure why this verification was not done initially by the embassy. I sincerely hope that my original certificate is returned and that it has not been misplaced. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by foonshur(m): 9:40pm On Jan 29 |
Received my passport today; visa denied. Reasons: - I didn't show that I have been applying to jobs or/and shown that I have been called for job interviews or correspondence at any sector. - I've not demonstrated competence in my field of study through the administered test at the embassy or through my experience. Although I can appeal this decision not later than 1 month from the date of this letter. Now, it is true that i didn't present any evidence of job applications or evidence that I've been having correspondence with any company for job opportunities. The second part: I read chemical engineering for my undergraduate degree but I have not even picked up my certificate since 2016 if not for this Chancenkarte application. Since 2016 to date, I have been in the solar energy sector. Yes, it is possible that I didn't do well in the given test at the interview, but I made it known to the interviewer that this is not the sector I am hoping to get a job in germany. That was further demostrated in my motivation letter and CV. I presented all my training certificates and also my trade test certificate. She told me not to worry, that I should just try my best in what I was presented as the test (might I add that the test wasn't even chemical engineering related per se, out of the 10 questions, about 6 was on tensile stress and strain... I agree, this shouldn't be an excuse). Pls should I appeal this decision or just move on, cos to be honest, I am tired. I have actually put my life partially on pause cos of this application for close to a year now. (Started this application April 2025) |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by foonshur(m): 9:44pm On Jan 29 |
Talk2Bella:Now, how they arrived at the conclusion that the certificate isn't genuine is the big question. And might I ask, why did you include your MBA in the application, was your undergraduate degree different entirely? Are you looking to appeal the decision or you just want your MBA certificate back? |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Talk2Bella(f): 10:25pm On Jan 29 |
foonshur:I honestly wish they had explained how they arrived at that conclusion. I am completely confident in the authenticity of my certificate, which is why I asked them to contact the school directly and why I was comfortable reaching out to the university myself. This is Ahmadu Bello University, after all. I included my MBA because my professional background and intended work are in marketing, which has been my field for many years. My MBA is also in marketing, so it is directly relevant to my career path and application. What remains unclear is how they concluded that the certificate is not genuine without first verifying it with the issuing institution. That is the part that raises the most questions for me. At this point, my immediate priority is the return of my original MBA certificate. Depending on how they respond and whether the verification is properly handled, I will then decide on the next steps regarding an appeal. |

Talk2Bella:Please let us know the outcome of this and will advice to follow to the end... cos as someone here said, it could affect your future shengen visas. To all, pls I would like to be in contact with an immigration lawyer in germany. If not for anything, let me hear his/her opinion. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Laryfrosh: 6:48am On Jan 30 |
Missmarola:I think the same documents you submitted online should be the same documents you go with for the interview. I don't know what extra documents should be taken along. Maybe someone who has gone past this stage can educate us on this. |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Talk2Bella(f): 11:20am On Jan 30 |
Update: The embassy called me this morning. According to them, my document is suspected of being manipulated. They would not explain how they arrived at that conclusion, said the case is closed, and informed me that I have one month to appeal. They also stated that when a document is suspected of this nature, it is not returned. I am sincerely hoping the document has not been destroyed, as that would be extremely detrimental. Honestly, this all feels surreal. Like I’m watching it happen from outside my body. In the meantime, I’ve contacted an immigration firm in Germany, and I’ve asked my university to issue a formal verification letter on my behalf to include in the appeal. If anyone has been through something similar or understands how this appeal process works, I would really appreciate any insight or guidance. |

Talk2Bella:Wow, was there any physical alterations on the certificate? What was the advice from the immigration lawyer? Hoping this is resolved soon. |

Dear Prospective applicants, I am writing this piece on behalf of a fellow applicant whose visa got denied few days ago. He joined the waiting list in March, had visa interview in October and got denied in January despite transferring €13,341 into his blocked account. I’ve been in Europe for more than a decade and I have worked in the top 3 best economy in Europe(Germany, France and Italy) I’m writing this because I think someone or people will find it useful. If they ask If you don’t get a job with your opportunity card visa within a year, what’s the best answer? In addition to that, alway add evidence of your ties to your home country (real estate investment, marriage certificate, landed property, Statement of purpose) in the other session of your application. Furthermore, for people who got denied opportunity card, will the applicant re-join the queue or open a ticket and request for another appointment for fresh visa application? Finally, it is apparent that all these countries are all tightening their immigration policies and laws. Do have plan A, B , C and D Best wishes |

I had my interview on the 27th of October 2025, and the visa was denied on the 23rd of January 2026. What a rude shock. Please learn from the below and your candid advice will be appreciated. Congratulations to those who got their Visas approved. (1) An impairment of public interests exists, among other things, if the applicant intends to use a visa for a purpose other than applied for or to remain in Germany beyond the validity period of the Visa. Based on the statements you made in the interview at the German mission abroad, as well. 'Without intending to remain in Germany without a job, there are reasonable doubts in your case about your intention to leave for your home country before the visa expires' (2) You have failed to sufficiently substantiate your visa application for the opportunity card either during the visa interview or with the documents you submitted. You have not demonstrated any concrete job search efforts or indicated which professions you could pursue in Germany or which specific employers you are particularly interested in.Even during the in-person interview at the German mission, you stated that you had not yet been offered any job interviews or presentations... (3) It is taken into account that you have a private interest in entering the Federal Republic of Germany. However, this is countered by public interest in orderly entry and in particular in the job search of only those person who are suitable and actually intend to take up employment in Germany and are thus available to the labor market... Therefore, the requested visa could not be granted. I tried to understand all the above, but I couldn't. If I couldn't get a job before my Visa expires,I should wait or what? after telling the VO that I currently work as an Application Analyst and intend to go into Cloud Security...told her specifically that I have been applying on LinkedIn, Xing and Stepstone. *I used BA(Blocked Account) *After the Interview and I was given my Passport to go and write the A2 Exam. Which I passed. My Question; *Do I reapply for another visa as my Process on the portal has been closed or do I go back to join the Queue* To appeal and get a verdict could take 6 - 12 months. What do I do? I have spent so much time and money on this. |

KazOlufemi:From what you wrote, your interview probably didn't go too well. The points they wrote might not be the exact issue, so I suspect the Visa Officer wasn't convinced with your answers during the interview. Also did you indicate an interest to stay beyond one year during the application phase? If you did, it might have been the reason for (1) above. |

Good evening everyone, is physics Education on Anabin? I have searched within my capacity, I couldn't find it there or should I just go for the ZAB? I need advice please 🙏 am already 3 months on waiting list |
| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Laryfrosh: 3:07am On Feb 02 |
Aderonke2025car:If you have checked annabin and your university doesn't appear under your course (ensure it's exactly the same course and degree). Then, I will advice you go for ZAB. ZAB takes about 3 months to be processed. Hopefully, it will align with the time you get called for preliminary review. |
