Continue to live and do your work, but have it in mind that one or two people is jealous of you there. My best advice, before this year runs out, exit from the compound and look for another place. Try dey dress up in the morning and move out once in a while just to cover up.

Print stickers, labels and cards to state what you're into and give them to your neighbors. You'll be surprised they will bring customers come for you. People will naturally assume once they are not sure.

I have had similar experience.

I didn't know of the rumour until a neighbour boldly asked my wife 2 years ago if was a yahoo boy because they don't see me go to work.

To make it worse, I had 24/7 light and Internet at home which aligns with their stereotype of a yahoo boy

So, what did you do after that?

You are man. Man up and face the situation.There is nothing to be scared of about the neighbours, they can't do anything. As long as you obey the rules and regulations of the compound and also live a peaceful life, U won't get into their trap.

Never stay too long in a particular environment to the point that people around become too familiar with you.

Don't pack anything. Simply ignore them. In most cases, we don't hear what people are saying. Whether we like it or not people must talk. You job is to ignore.

Just dress up thrice a week and visit a friend... Leave in the morning and come back in the evening

That's what my friends who earn online do... They come to my office with their devices and stay till evening/night atimes sef... There's almost constant light plus generator

Being literate does not equal being educated, most people can best be described as uneducated, they hear or see anything they don't investigate they just follow what the majority are saying and who are the majority, mostly uneducated people who have a nice biased mindset, difficult to change. The average Nigerian is very bitter about his neighbor's progress and would join others to say negative things about you once you are more successful than they are.
Move out of that environment as soon as possible. You will be labeled Yahoo once you earn good money and are seen to be spending it.

I too work from home Tuesday and Thursday and also at home weekends, so I only go to the office Monday Wednesday and Friday,
As long as U have Ur work identity card with U, incase a nosy neighbour report U to the police,
