Ifunanya Nwangene, a 25-year-old Abuja-based classical, jazz, RnB, and soul singer, popularly known by her stage name Nanyah, has reportedly passed away after suffering a snake bite at her residence in the early hours of the morning.

SaharaReporters gathered that the incident occurred at her home in Abuja when a snake attacked her, inflicting a bite that later proved fatal.

According to information gathered, Nanyah reportedly made frantic efforts to save her life after the incident, rushing herself to two different hospitals for urgent medical attention.

However, she was said to have been turned away or left untreated due to the unavailability of anti-venom at the facilities she visited.

Report indicate that she did everything she could to survive. She went to more than one hospital, but there was no anti-venom.

Meanwhile, according to reports, this was not the first time a snake had been sighted in or around the late singer’s residence.

Following news of her death, reactions have continued to trail the incident on social media, with some Nigerians expressing shock and grief, while others speculated about supernatural causes.

Some commenters alleged that the snake attack might be linked to juju or spiritual manipulation, though no evidence has been provided to support such claims.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been released by health authorities or the police regarding the circumstances surrounding her death, and it remains unclear whether an investigation has been opened.

Nanyah was described by friends and fans as a young, rising artiste with a growing presence in the local music scene.

Her sudden death has once again drawn attention to Nigeria’s poor emergency response system, particularly the lack of life-saving drugs such as anti-venom in hospitals, even in the Federal Capital Territory.

Especially those private ones, once they are done collecting your money, and tell you to continue with general hospital, they are already certain you going to die.

Let us go back to our root.. moving Hospital to hospital looking for anti venom, while there are traditional herbals leaves and roots you can take to neutralise snake venom..

Mumu country with wacky health care but noisy citizens on twitter bragging about Lagos and insulting african countries that have far more sophiscated society more than chaotic nigeria. Nigeria is a disgrace, it is such a disappointment to humanity. As we speak, no light here. antivenom differs.... It depends on d type of snake... And also d potency of the venum.... Some snakes ehn... Before u reach hospital sef u Don go oh.. I sabi person wey snake bite around 2005 or 2006....they tried different types of antivenum until one finally worked...

A failed Nation. This is one of numerous effects from bad governance. No ER, Nigeria is a country with so many venomous reptiles
Without reachable hospital's with antidote. Imagine a promising young lady to die in such a mess. It's very frustrating. RIP to the young lady.

Basic but important drugs are no longer in our hospitals any longer. Is it because the cases of snake bites are not common or they just don't feel the need to have it?
Meanwhile when even Ekiti Assembly will budget 68 million naira for primary health care, mostly maybe common with State government, how will they see the need to have such kind of medicine available.
It's so sad really.
