Only few Teaching Hospitals has it in Nigeria

It's only hospitals n those places that are endemic to snake bites that keep anti snake venoms , I used to live In such a place and the general hospital keeps anti snake venoms

Can someone knowledgeable educate us on remedy for snake bite in matters like this to save life. Be it medically, scientifically, herbally, native ways or otherwise.

Upon all the huge amount of fund govt earmarked for the ministry of health, anti-venom injection cannot still available in our government hospitals.
This is not government's fault again...those incharge of health need to be query seriously...those heads incharge of health care need to be call for questions and answers.

There's only one place to get Anti venom injection, HMedix pharmacy.

When our security got bitten by snake here in Abuja, we went to asokoro general hospital and garki hospital no Anti venom.
Then we called HMedix pharmacy and they called all their branches in Abuja and only one branch has it. He took the drug and recovery time was two days

Moringa plant + Tumeric + Garlic is very popular in rural India for treating Cobra bite.

I am not sure if this would work. If snake bites me I will quickly tie the area to prevent the venom from moving to other parts of the body. And then I would quickly use a blade to cut the area to drain out the blood and venom in the area. This is better than doing nothing.

This is what I know people do, but it doesn't entirely remove the venom. It's just like a first aid, and varies depending on where one was bitten.
How is it gonna work for someone that was climbing a tree and got bitten on the neck!

This one really hit hard 😔25 years old, full of talent, and gone so suddenly. It’s heartbreaking to hear she tried everything to survive, moving from hospital to hospital, yet no anti-venom was available. This is a serious wake-up call for our health system how can people lose their lives to something preventable like snakebite? RIP Ifunanya Nwangene (Nanyah). May her music live on and may her family find strength in this painful time.

She tried for herself. She died because she was in Nigeria.
She ran to 2 different hospitals, and there was no anti venom.
The same thing that made Oliver De Coque to die in the Federal medical center Abuja.
There was no oxygen in a federal medical center.
When we say Nigeria is a useless country, people will say we are demarketing Nigeria.
May Nigeria happen to them someday.

Nigeria is not a useless country, my mum was rushed to the hospital some years ago, it was snake bite, and she was treated. Nigeria is not a useless country.

Exactly. They are stealing these resources thinking e no go touch them. E go reach everybody. It’s just one emergency away. I don’t blame them, the Governors are too busy stealing themselves to take healthcare seriously. But all of them involved in this theft will pay. They divert government drugs and money to their quack private hospital.

You will never see the “dem-dem” on this thread to come and defend this government and the system like this. But when it concerns Peter Obi, you’ll see them coming in droves with comments flying around as if they’ve just been released from Yaba Left

Being bitten by a cobra could be very fatal.

I have come close to a cobra like this particular one, that snake is made from hell

What I learned from this case is not to let any doctor untie the cloth you used to stop the venom until the anti venom has been injected. Her brother said she was fine and talking to him until a quack doctor in the hospital she went to, untied the cloth she used to slow down the venom.

This injection is around 140k but necessary for emergency and should be a must have in all hospitals

Feel guilty after killing a snake or.... I don't understand. I feel hurt when I see a snake and it escapes. I never let them leave or live.

Aside that the hospitals visited do not have any anti-venom let alone appropriate one. Snake victims are becoming norms in Nigeria haba

She was bitten by a Snake.

You only administer Anti-venom based on the snake type as we are taught in school. It was after she passed that Snake catchers were sent to her house and the snake killed.

Not a good way to die. May God Almighty comfort her family.

2026 and snake bite still kills even after the victim is brought into a medical facility... And some are hailing the government of the day cos they have successfully turned the basic amenities into luxury to them
