Hi guys, just wanted to let you know i got my visa today. I went on interview on 13 january and my visa was shipped on the 30th, thats less than 3 weeks. Final tips for everyone to be successful - The more documents you have the better, for example if they asked for school leaving certificate ofcourse some people here have had success with just testimonial or waec. I would advise to get all of them as its safer. If you cant get all just do what you can, the more the better. - Dress well and casual for the interview. When i went to the embassy i was surprised seeing some people dressing like theyre going to a club, wearing slides etc. Wear clean and mature. You dont need to wear suit or anything but atleast a long sleeve shirt and some covered shoes - The test given during the interview is always mostly repeated either from student visa or from chancenkarte. Check online or ask ai and search for your course and questions for this test and you could actually go there and see its all repeated questions like it happened to me. - German isnt necessary as most of you know. But knowing just abit of it and saying you are learning will help. Tell the vo youre learning and say some stuff youve already learned like introducing yourself. - I had no document of jobsearch applications etc. But i wilk exclude this in my case because i have worked in germany before. - Nigerians have alot of issues with their names and i also faced this issue with the VO to the point she didnt trust or believe i was actually this person. Birthdates and names are veryyy veryyy important. So make sure you get an affidavit from highcourt that is veryyyy detailed as she told me that my affidavit wasnt detailed at all, it said nothing. - Be calm and confident. The interview is basically just a discussion and most of the questions are from your documents and application I wish you all the best as this has been a long and painful process, taking over a year for me in total. Goodluck to all of you and i wish you the best |

Diceman8:Congratulations bro, please I’d like to confirm the valid from period of your visa stamp. Is it a couple weeks away from the day you got it (today). And does it align with the intended travel date you filled in the videx form or it’s different. |

Diceman8:Congratulations Bro. Just to be clear, when they mention "no job applications/interview" as reason for visa rejection, I don't think they are referring to job applications made specifically to companies in Germany. I think they are referring to job applications/interviews and work experiences one has had in his/her chosen field of study/expertise. What do you think? Could you please shed more light on this. Thanks. |

Laryfrosh:To be honest, they just asked me if i have started applying for jobs in germany and how its going if i got any replies etc. I told them i started before but stopped as i didnt know when i was getting an interview because the process has been slow. So i told them ive started applying again since i got an interview date |

Hi poster. Sorry about your experience but all hope is not lost as I have been in a similar situation over a decade ago and it all ended in praise. I would suggest you appeal the decision, but just before that, kindly sort out the issue of your certificate from ABU. The first step should be to write the relevant department of your alma mater about this development and if possible, provide them with a printout of the original copy with the embassy so they can write an official letter, confirming the document is, for all intent and purposes, genuine. Once you have the document from the institution on their letter head, bearing the email and phone number of the relevant department (exams and records), you can then write a letter, quoting your name, D.O.B, reference number, and if possible, a copy of the rejection letter. Take this letter to the embassy or send it in by courier. The embassy will, most likely send the document withheld back to the institution for confirmation. Once that is sorted out, you can then appeal the decision. However, be ready for back-and-forth letter exchanges with the embassy by courier until all issues have been trashed. In my case, I appealed alongside my defence and it went on for 2 months until I was cleared and asked to re-apply. However, this was in 2014, and I don't know if the process is still the same. After all issues must have been sorted out, you can always re-apply. If you don't trash this now, your records would be on the Schengen Information System and believe me, you don't want your name blacklisted. Delay is not necessarily denial, but it would be in your best interest to follow due process and sort this out. Your visa is sure waiting for you, just a few glitches here and there. I wish you Goodluck! Talk2Bella: |

esdajo:Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. I really appreciate it. I’ve already hired an immigration lawyer in Germany, and we’re currently appealing the decision. I’ve also formally informed ABU about the situation and shared with them the exact document that was submitted to the embassy. The school is aware and has agreed to send an official verification letter as well. To be honest, I’m quite upset about the whole process. This has already cost me a lot of money and emotional energy, and it’s frustrating that the embassy did not simply reach out to the university directly for verification before taking this step. That said, my hands are clean, and I’m confident in the authenticity of my documents. At this point, my main concern is getting my MBA certificate back while the verification and appeal process runs its course. I’m following due process carefully and documenting everything. Your message was encouraging, especially hearing that things eventually worked out for you. Thank you again for sharing your experience and the reassurance. |

It's soothing to know you have hired a legal representative. However, I doubt if they will release the document until they get an official message from your almer mater. I think they suspected the document was doctored, hence, the seizure. However, if they later find out that same was not, they will release it to you or just send it back to your almer mater as that is their modus operandi. On a side note, I know how frustrating this could be, but I would suggest you don't put all your eggs in one basket. You don't have to put your life on hold because of a visa, however desirous that may seem. Have a backup plan and focus more on clearing your name so you won't be blacklisted on the SIS. Once that is achieved, even if you move elsewhere, you can always reapply for a schengen visa to any of the schengen states and you won't have any problems bothering on fraudulent misrepresentation from the past. All the best! Talk2Bella: |

Good afternoon everyone, Please I need clarification from people here, I had my interview by January 6th but my portal keeps showing this (appointment booking) and I want to know if this is normal. Thanks

| Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by Smokyasl: 5:56pm On Feb 06 |
Jorazy:Check your email and spam mails if the embassy didn’t send an email for a second interview then just ignore it. The portal might remain like that even after you have gotten your visa. |

CornOak:I don't think it's 30 days. Most persons here mentioned 14 days. I think the only persons that got 30 days were those who were invited just before the Xmas break. So, the break was included |
