I just read that the LASG banned the installation of traditional chieftancy or kingship in its domain. Here is my opinion: I love this. All states should also follow suit and abolish the nonsense installation of chieftancy titles in foreign land. It is an abberration especially for us Ndiigbo who like copying nonsense from other cultures. Who told you we Igbo have these nonsense before the whiteman came? Even though I'm sure this new Lagos law and enforcement is not in good fate, it serves a purpose of sanitization and even others should emulate it.I personally wonder the usefulness of Ohaneze Ndiigbo if they don't make effort in uniting Ndiigbo splintered into 13 states in Nigeria. |

I support the ban. Imagine some jobless individuals settling up palaces in another man's land, proclaiming themselves to be kings or eze ndigbo. O wrong now. Apart from the prohibition, they should be jailed as well. |

Igbophobia:Ohaneze has been hijacked by 419ers and rogues like Okechukwu Isuguzoro and co., who specialise in running after politicians in Abuja to collect crumbs and release statements and ultimatum depending who paid good money.. . |

A lot of them talking like it is only the Igbos installing chieftaincy outside Igbo land. Yorubas do it too, every tribe do it. All states should abolish that too including that of the Yorubas , and fulanis. Tinubu is really still bitter about his loss to Obi in Lagos. He has been busy scraping everything that looks Igbo in Lagos from renaming bus stops, to arresting chiefs of other ethnicity especially Igbos , now to scraping traditional stools , all is just to erase Igbo presence in Lagos. Fine and good. But all the the states in Nigeria should follow suite, simple |

And the most annoying thing is that this does not show any respect by them of their own traditional institutions back home. Ohaneze was/is running a franchise operation dishing out chieftaincy titles to the highest bidder. It was same Ohaneze that the Eze Ndigbo of Ghana claimed he was anointed by them as King of Ibos in Ghana. This is just flat out disrespectful to their own chieftaincy titles back home. Speaking of their own chieftaincy tittles in Ibo land, this is also a contentious issue as their origins are not tied to some ancient royal bloodline but are from the British created Warrant chiefs. After the civil war, Gowon government wanted more direct communication to the people through traditional stools so he elevated them to traditional rulers . They are not royal and have their origins from the British colonial system and are more like prefectures than royalty. These warrant chiefs operated on license granted by the British who could and did so often withdrew the license if the appointed warrant chief was found wanting or heavy handed. See it more as a Sherriff or Local Government Care Taker Chairman appointed by a governor. So when Ohaneze goes about installing fake kings upandan in another man's land, know that they too don't have a shred of understanding or clue on what royalty and kingship is. Before you can be crowned a king, one must have a kingship exclusive to one's divine right to rule absolutely. Is Lagos their kingdom? Did they meet a power vacuum in Lagos and decided to elect amongst themselves a king? And Lagos being cosmopolitan , what right do they have creating an exclusive tribal king in another man's domain? Finally, to show how they don't understand the sacrilege they are committing upandan with this useless Eze Ndigbo nonsense, its only in their SE you will find breakaway kings and kingdoms in the form of autonomous kingdom rubbish with split factional kings and kingdoms. Well there isn't anything under the sun they won't fake |
