The only thing Tilumbu achieved with subsidy removal was sharing more money with state governors. It didn’t benefit the people.

People emptied their bank accounts due to high cost of living, in order to sacrifice for corruption, failed leadership, and pay-for-defection

What exactly nonsensical about financially empowering governors and local government chairman so they can carry out works in their states or no be the same way u vote the president na im u take vote governors and local government chairmenhuh

If u want the only the president to restructure the country, why then did u vote for governors??
Or the governors don't have a role in this restructuring?

How much share did your state receive?
What has your State governor done with the money

We focused too much on the presidency while allowing the state governors to behave as how they like

Nigeria can not be making so much money while the people don't feel the impact...there must be transparency...most Nigerians shy away from paying tax because it seems politicians live fat off public funds, with their luxurious lifestyle, perks and benefits, driving maybachs, and rolls Royce... using the money of the struggling Nigerians to ball and live like kings. Luxury lifestyle among politicians should be checked before talking of tax regime. Nigeria is not rich, as per our par capital income and GNP in relation to our population, hence Nigerian politicians should not be paid as those politicians in developed advanced countries, because the work they put in is different, as per results.

Minimum wage and amount we pay our police is too low in comparison to what politicians earn, this is an anomaly...it is not proportionte at all, we must begin from here, then deal decisively with leakages, and diversion of public funds. Financial and fraud agencies must focus more on securing public funds, focus on politicians, ministers, governors, etc...

That is the only time governors are united irrespective of their party and source the source (where the VAT is derived from)

So the president should just walk away with all those humongous funds while you'll be chasing states and LGs with just crumbs to their names?

From the distributable VAT revenue, the State Government and the local government received almost 70% of the allocations

Yet everybody is screaming Federal Government and Tinubu always

The FG even received lower than the Local Government, just imagine

How many state of the art PHC's do you have in your state, how many smart schools, how many built roads, how many housing projects, how many security equipments for effective policing? All these are within the purview of your state govt.

Need you be reminded how many insfrqcstructure projects the fg is embarking on,tinubu just paid off longstanding debts to gencos so as to attract much needed investments in that sector, agric mechanisation projects..... your state govt has alot to do in alleviating your poverty.

So you want your governor to keep the money allocated to your state, to himself?

There is a sharing formula agreed upon, and there is a reason FG keeps the biggest share, check the budget for defence, security, and other national security and strategic departments of FG, they have a huge bill, of course we know we need more accountability and transparency.

But it is fool hardy to let your governor use your state loot like it's his personal money, what belongs to your state in this federation should be your first concern, your state is your stake in this federation, focus on your state, for your own good.

These billions are big enough for a wise and prudent governor to develop his state with, like some governors are showing, building power systems etc...a state has natural and human resources that a resourceful thinking governor will use to make his state prosperous. State governors have leverage to make money...this is why we need true federalism, so each state depend on itself, like we use to have back then, this will end this laziness.
