It is so sad that Buhari was seen as the messiah, who would save Nigeria from corruption, and deal with corrupt persons. Unfortunately, right under his watch, corruption took another level. There’s hardly any public officer under Buhari who does not have a corruption issue. It is a very big shame on them all.

How can this country get better with such greedy crooks in the positions of power. Nothing works. Electricity, housing, transportation, security, healthcare, all in shambles because of their wickedness.

While they were busy stealing, blind and bewitched youths were here supporting them and telling us that PDP was the issue. While they were busy leading the nation to a precipice, closing borders, carrying out horrible policies to impoverish citizens, untrained youths were here supporting them. It’s the same presently. Someone made one sentence “subsidy is gone” in 2023 and scattered the country. They met the dollar at 176 in 2015 and took it to 1,600 by 2024 and yet tell their deaf supporters that they are making profit. Who will save us from APC? Even the supporters, seeing that Malami left the party have distanced themselves from him, telling us that it is the fault of ADC. They can never stop pointing fingers at others.

So how much should the dollar be,considering our level of production.

What's the difference? Birds of the same feather flock together. Mr. Saint Peter has gone back to structures of criminality.

As funny as this may sound, its so outrageous that most of the MDAs in Nigeria, legalize accepting gifts in their constitution. I think that needs to be stopped.

It's not like I owe you a reply, but I need to make it clear that Peter Obi just needs a robust platform where he can contest and win the presidential election because running under another mushroom party will give Tinubu an automatic victory.

If Obi becomes president, he's not like your regular politicians who don't relate with ordinary people - he's a man that Nigerians can hold accountable. That's one of the reasons he's different.

A public officer receiving gifts that are 3 times his salary.
Is that no an occasion for conflict of interests?
Were the gifts declared?
Who are the benefactors and what was their intent in giving these gifts?

I thought the EFCC said he stole 250 billion, why are they now sueing him to court for 8 billion. Anyways, we will also interrogate Tinubu's sources of income and how he made his money as soon as he leaves office in 2027.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.

Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.

The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.

The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.

Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.

The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.

During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).

The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.

Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.

Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:

“ACCOUNT NAME, FINANCIAL ACCOUNT INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF ACCOUNT, 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.

“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”
