Are you on any of the WhatsApp groups. You could easily get a referral from those who had experienced such.. I'm sure it can be salvaged pending when you can get to buy a new one. There's another option to bypass it., this is a last resort , your mechanic will advise you better.

That's the reality, the app companies don't show you when they advertise huge earnings on social media. Huge maintenance fees for certain vehicle brands.
Car repairs is on the high side.. it literally competes for your earnings if you are not careful. As a driver , going and driving to all destinations in Lagos is not advisable.

Mechanics and spare parts dealers won't share the same sentiments app companies use in crashing fares.
no I’m not in any of the group .. pls care to share the link to one .. yeah I was told by one that I need to bypass it by connecting the oil pipes directly and removing the abs sensor .. still working on finding a fix for the abs or connect it directly ..if I have enough money I will replace the abs …

Good day everyone, i started last week friday. I want to ask if things are okay with the confirmation rate & cancellation rate cos Uber threatened i would lose my Uber pro status soon in the second screenshot. I have never cancelled a ride on Uber, only Riders cancel. What i noticed is i get matched few mins b4 i complete a ride so maybe that is affecting my acceptance rate.

This days I dey quick off my bolt app. grin grin
I could go online and next thing stupid prices, and because my acceptance rate is at 53% I can't decline too much. I'm always happy when I see order accepted by another driver. Two times in a row I don off app or switch to strictly comfort.
I registered last week for Uber, but i couldnt switch to comfort or select the type of order i want to get like UberX, Uber comfort etc. Newbie but i want to learn fast. Much respect boss

My Total net profit on Toyota 2009 Matrix is 88K with 40K fuel on Uber. Most Uber riders dey always ask for AC.

I think our profit margin is similar with 60-68% boss.

There are low fares on Comfort too. Most times, you don't observe.. Cross examine the distance with your fares. Do you get 550-600/ km on the so called Comfort..?
I don't pick any kinda comfort rides. And positioning too is vital. With 5 quality rides on comfort, you're good for the day and your car rests instead of needless running about Lagos on ridiculous prices. My car is Camry 11 V4, I no fit dey compare myself with Suzuki or Corolla boys, and it makes more sense when you own the vehicle yourself.this is my first trip today, from Canal Estate(Ago/Cele) to Access bank HQ, VI. I would do some short trips here in VI to Lekki 1 then Ikoyi then straight to Airport. I go rest again and come out for those going home. May God help us jare

This is VERY WRONG oil type for anybody driving frequently and HORRIBLE for anybody doing ehailing. 0w 20 is almost water when hot.... If ur car ain't brand new, driving in nigeria with 0w 20 is you kissing ur engine goodbye quickly.... Expensive doesn't always mean better.

Anybody doing uber should be using 5w-40 to better protect ur engine. Anything ending with 20 is a no no. Anything starting with 20w and above, no no.
While 0W-20 oils are designed to provide fuel efficiency and cold-start benefits, they may not offer the optimal protection for older engines or those subjected to heavy loads and high temperatures typical in e-hailing or urban driving. Thicker oils like 5W-40 generally provide better lubrication and durability under such conditions, helping to protect the engine over time.

It's important to note that the correct oil type depends on several factors, including your vehicle's make, model, age, and driving conditions. Consulting your vehicle's owner manual is always the best approach.

In summary:

- For frequent urban or e-hailing drivers, especially in hot climates, using a 5W-40 or similar viscosity oil can enhance engine protection.
- Thin oils like 0W-20 are typically suited for newer engines and short-term fuel savings, but may not be ideal for high-stress, high-temperature driving conditions.
- Always prioritize the manufacturer's recommended specifications for your vehicle.
Proper oil selection tailored to your driving environment can definitely extend your engine's life and save you money in the long run.

If you want to extend the life of your engine. Before you can talk about oil vicosity.. The basics are been ignored by car owners in Nigeria.......

E hailing drivers this is specifically directly towards you....

The use of coolant instead of water 💦.. The mentality is that coolant is meant for abroad weather grin

Now if you are doing e hailing and your car is using water instead of coolant. You have no reason to talk about thicker oil to protect your engine because of extreme heat .. Your points are null and void grin

Using coolant in your engine helps regulate optimal temperature of your engine. Coolant has added addictives to prevent coolant from boiling like water.

Coolant absorbs the excess heat from your engine to prevent overheating and reducing wear and tear.. water actually does the opposite,

using water increase the wear and tear of your engine especially in stop and go traffic, coz water does not have cooling properties to regulate optimal temperature ...

Summary: if you using water instead of coolant, you are killing yourself engine faster , using thicker oil at this point to protect your engine is null and void. Water can not absorb heat like coolant, your engine is even working harder under these conditions....

I don't want to hear anything about thicker oil to protect your engine, if you are using water instead of coolant..

Using engine coolant (typically a water-glycol mixture) is fundamentally more viable than relying on the viscosity of oil for engine temperature regulation. Coolant has a much higher specific heat capacity (around double that of oil), allowing it to absorb, transport, and dissipate far more heat per unit of volume.

The low level of common sense among car owners in Nigeria is something that needs to be study in Auto Mobile industries.. It is an epidemic.. very sad 😭

Common sense is no longer common sense...

I will be surprised if drivers are not using coolant. Alot of drivers I know use coolant. Myself while I was driving ALWAYS used coolant. These I believe shouldn't be used as comparism to thickness of oil.

Truthfully 5W 40 is thicker and besides we sud just stick to manufacturers opinion just ensure it's the fully synthetic

Baba majority of car owners and Uber drivers and other e hailing drivers don't use coolant... There this notion that coolant is for abroad weather... Please keep in mind I invested heavily on e hailing early 2018

When we talk of coolant, we are not talking about abro coolant... That is fake coolant

My summary here is even if you are using the correct vicosity engine oil , and u are using water instead of coolant, u are deceiving urself, or better if you are using thicker oil thinking it will protect ur engine from wear and tear, and u are using water instead of coolant, the car owner is deceiving himself........

Now in terms of thicker, thicker oil should only be used as a last result.. Now if you need more engine oil protection after making sure you are using original coolant..

You can use high mileage engine oil. A recommended oil brand with a proven track record.

I will talk more about this topic.. I need to update my Tiktok followers
