A thread on something this consequential - and we're just two pages long. Some people on the thread have already resigned themselves to fate and resolved not to vote in the next elections. They've given up. Not a word about challenging their representatives in the Senate to demand an explanation. Not a word about sending a stern message to government that this will not stand. Nothing. They have folded. But social media is full of 500 page long threads about how Nigeria is 'better' than South Africa or Namibia. .There's more. |

SmartPolician:and that the problem right there. Ones life and livelihood depends entirely on politics. You can say you're doing your own business and has nothing to do with government. Well guess what. One wrong or right policy and everything you worked for could take a turn for good or bad.. |

RIGGING! Nawa for you o! That's their way. I will keep saying it, THIEFNIBU can never ever win OBI the Tsunami, Sarkin Salama,in a FREE and FAIR election.
How can a Senate in 2026, an era driven by ICT, vote against the electronic transmission of election results? What exactly are they afraid of? If you claim to be popular with the people, why do you fear implementing far-reaching electoral reforms that would guarantee elections that are truly free, fair, and credible elections devoid of manipulation? At this point, one is tempted to suggest that Tinubu and INEC should simply share the N1 trillion budgeted for the 2027 elections among Nigerians and dispense with the charade of conducting elections altogether. At least that would be more honest.
|

What kind of democracy is this if the election is not credible? The rigging will be so massive like we have never seen in the history of this country. The Nigeria population are the most useless and low IQ for all the black race. So the are afraid of the election even with federal advantages. |

brain54:The main reason is that there was NO repercussion for not adhering to INECs own laid down rules . So there is no incentive to make it a compulsory requirement . Nigerians are probably one of the most docile people on the planet . We are all bark and no bite . |
| Re: 2027: Senate Rejects Mandatory Electronic Transmission Of Results by Osanoghodua1: 7:47pm On Feb 04 |
If Nigerians really want this nation to work, they should protest until electronic transmission of results from the polling units become a law otherwise any election conducted is seen as being rigged. This is an open robbery, I expect a massive protest to force these crooks to do the right thing. |

APC removed Jonathan so it is possible for opposition to remove Tinubu no matter the type of electoral law in place. Then there is no law that can not be circumvented |

Hezzyluv:You gerrit? Someone who won when he wasn't in the office and his announcement was done in the dead of the night, What kind of dream is any opposition having to think they will remove him when he is the incumbent? With about 30 states becoming his party...does that look like a joke? And a fellow Yoruba as now the INEC chairman since 1999... Oppositions can dream all they want, winning a fair election seems for them unattainable, except some unthinkable miracles happen... |

| Re: 2027: Senate Rejects Mandatory Electronic Transmission Of Results by Godmind2022(m): 7:55pm On Feb 04 |
Tinubu should veto electronic transmission of election results from the polling booths to show his sincere intention to conduct free and fair election.😁🤣😅 |

Freshtruth:That's how y'all be answering names that doesn't reflect on your conducts. What has the backwardness of what the Senate did got to do with tinubu? Is he the only one contesting? How does this affect him and benefits the others? Or are you saying he will loose the election if the bill scaled through? If he is so unpopular, why shouldn't the votes of the people count? Some of you will just open your mouth waaaaa and spew anything that enters your heads. Hiss. |
