These people are desperate to impose their backward and archaic religion on other people.. Funny enough you won’t see those that are claiming to be African traditionalist on this thread to defend one of their own.. They only claim to be African traditionalists whenever they want to bash Christians for obvious reasons.. They are a disease with the sole purpose of wiping out every African tradition and culture. Any place they go to, the people immediately loose their traditional names, their traditional attire and way of life. Unlike Yoruba's that would call God - Oluwa and Igbo that would call God - Chukwu, their God only has an Arabic name and would only be referred to by his Arabic name, same way you pray to their God as well, in Arabic. It is an arab supremacist belief system and to think that black Africans are worshiping this evil that was used to promote slavery BEFORE AND AFTER the transatlantic slave trade. Go and look up who showed the Portuguese the slave routes in Africa, Go look up who lead the raids on African villages, Go look up the real meaning of the word Kaffir and Abid / Abeed and then look up the Zanj rebellion. The problem of saying this type of thing is that it sends a strong message to religious fanatics to find an area they can settle as they are being chased away from other places they have inflicted pain and death. The shrines can be destroyed if they were erected without permits. However, some people have private shrines in their homes and have built palaces of shrines in their hearts. How will those shrines be destroyed? My point is that physical structures can be destroyed, but not ideological ones. Those destroying should also be aware that there is freedom of religious worship and association in Nigeria. The constitution guarantees it. No one can impose a state religion or force others from practicing their own religion. Those who want to practice their religion should also respect the rights of others. You can't go into a church and build a mosque and you can't go into a mosque and build a church. Similarly, the area is not the exclusive preserve of any religious group. Therefore, no one can go to a land meant for everyone to build a religious settlement without permission of everyone who can use the land. 56 Likes |
